  • WSET L2 - Sessions 1/2

Very pale garnet, some red fruit showing on the nose - leaning toward dried fruits. Some potpourri like floral notes, strong notes of chorizo (smoke, herbs, earth/savoury qualities). Dry and high acidity, with lots of tannin. High, plesantly warming alcohol. Long finish.

Personal favourite of the day. Would love to return to with food.

  • Medium reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & mulberries with overtones of floral notes of roses & earthy/dusty notes, spices, herbs, mushrooms & minerals scents in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & pomegranate with herbs, spices & minerals. Lingering finish. Although it is presently accessible with decanting & extended airing, it will definitely benefit & develop further with additional aging.

  • Nose of rose and spices.

On the palate, it is the archetype of Barolo: dense, spicy, but very fresh thanks to a good balance. This elegant and above all structured, black fruit on blackberry berries, then spice and finally a very stony side. The finish is still narrow because of its youth, but the length, floral, is already very good.

A good Barolo which will gain in serenity with age.

    Drunk in Grand Tasting

  • Tasted at a charity tasting event sponsored by a large NJ retailer. Light to medium ruby, strong on acidity and tannin but in balance and not obtrusive despite its youth. Loaded with cherries, rose petals and a touch of earthy mushroom. Very long on the finish. Very "pretty" and elegant especially for a normale. This producer always seems to deliver a good wine vintage after vintage.
