10/15/23, 11:39 PM - Hey etc, glad you got some value from my note. There is plenty of good syrah out there to refill the void.
9/3/23, 1:25 PM - Ah, very nice. We’re up the block.
8/15/23, 8:46 AM - Isn’t this great stuff! Wish I could find more.
7/7/23, 5:16 PM - Daniel, I am not sure of the cost, but, yes, three courses. We would go back.
7/17/22, 2:20 AM - With a score of 78, you would buy again?
7/28/21, 9:21 PM - I have another. You in the SF Bay Area?
4/4/21, 8:04 PM - I think I have another two. My recommendation would be to leave it upright for a few days and pour from the bottle. I gave both zero air time and it worked out well. I don’t see a decant needed unless you want to take the wine off the sediment and pour it back in the bottle for serving. Enjoy. It was a stellar wine. If you have a Durand cork remover, you’ll be better off, but slow coaching out of the cork with just the screw might do it.
2/7/21, 7:14 AM - What did you like about it? It is one of my favorite CA chard producers.
8/14/20, 9:01 PM - Any further comments? Your score seems to point towards some problems with the wine. Thanks for your comments.
12/18/19, 8:34 AM - Nice note, thank you.
10/22/19, 1:49 PM - Jeremy, thanks for the two notes. I picked ip the Speciale version of this based on these notes. A crap shoot, but we’ll see. No bottles in CT of that 67.
9/3/19, 8:00 PM - Shut?
8/28/19, 8:38 PM - Thanks for the note. I so enjoy these old Picasses.
6/8/19, 7:02 PM - Thanks for the note Matt.
1/26/18, 9:14 PM - Dang, that’s a bummer. Sorry to read this. I have two that I bought at the winery and have been stored ideally since. I’ll pull one and see and report back.
3/20/19, 11:39 PM - Oh that is terrible news. I have two that came direct from the winery into my cooler and driven to my offsite a few hours later. Sat there since. I’ll try to get one open. Wish me luck.
3/10/19, 11:02 PM - Nice Matt.
1/17/19, 3:27 PM - Thanks Matt. You influenced me picking it up.
1/17/19, 6:57 PM - Will do.
12/29/18, 4:46 PM - Thank you for the update.
9/20/18, 11:17 PM - Found 6.
9/21/18, 7:58 PM - “Found” them back in January.
10/22/18, 7:47 PM - Why stop at two. Get four and try them every five years!
12/2/18, 2:41 PM - You asked about 2016 vs 2015. I had the 2015 and decided to only buy one additional. It was good enough to add but I wanted to wait for another vintage. I have not had the 2016 but I bought more based on notes. So, I can’t really say from experience if one is better. As far as aging, I haven’t had them that old yet. My usual method for aging wines is to simply watch CT notes and see if anyone thinks its peaking or droppong off. If I see a couple notes with similar comments, I’ll either drink it or sell it.
11/24/18, 8:48 AM - The reviews are all over the place. Thanks for yours. Sounds like this is developing into something else. I’ll continue to watch reviews. I have five bots and was considering a few more, but now I’ll wait out the vintage and maybe try one. These don’t take up much room in your wallet. Cheers!
11/16/18, 7:39 PM - Thanks for the note Matt.
9/20/18, 11:28 PM - The 89 is a great wine. I have hadbit three times and enjoyed each one. Three left in the cellar.
9/21/18, 7:51 PM - I tried the 1976 Couly-Dutheil Chinon La Baronnie Madeleine and loved it. My tasting note is in CT.
9/21/18, 9:10 PM - Winchester - I don’t doubt your experiences. I have had two cases of various Couly-Dutheil over the last six years, each a treat.
9/13/18, 11:38 PM - I have had five of these already and each was a beauty. Thanks for your note as I have two left.
6/19/18, 8:56 PM - Google translate:This 100% roussanne wine is the white flagship of Ch.de Beaucastel from southern Rhône and is not just for delicate souls. The wine is not very nasty yet, it's heavy and hard, but desperately tries to hide. Heavy tropical tones, citrus, butterflies, and slate provide a relatively complex aroma. On the pallet, however, the wine rushes brutally! Here I am! It is fat, wide and with a violent concentration. This gets almost a bit of syrup trends, just without sweetness. Here there is also heavy tropical ripe fruit, hefty wood, nut, light chocolate, toffee, and some floral touch. This strange, wild and beautiful. Great wine!
6/9/18, 12:10 PM - Google translate:Golden straw yellow color. Needed time to open the aroma, but during the 4 hours it took before the bottle was consumed, there were elements of: smoke, citrus, apricot, honey, grapefruit, some herbs and clear perfume. Aroma is experienced as complex and still brought new elements. In mouth, it has great balancing oxygen, which is often lacking in white CDP. Good fullness and very good length. Good concentration and with reserves for the future. 93+ p. Exciting wine as time limits for repurchase.
6/5/18, 11:38 PM - Google translate: Cherry, strawberry, orange peel, licorice, vanilla, thyme, and cut tobacco are distinct and three-dimensional. The acidity is very beautiful and the tannins are delicate and ripe. It shows the elegant style of Sangiovese. Unlike most BdM's warm or sweet, it shows a generous and distinct personality of another latitude.
5/11/18, 1:03 AM - Peter, the individual edition 162, 160, 159... each have their own seperate CT listing.
3/16/18, 10:24 PM - Matt, thanks for the note and the drink start date.
3/16/18, 4:13 PM - Hey Matt, thought of you the other day working on Margaret’s taxes. You’ll see lots of flowing notes from me on Ceritas. I been buying them since their inception.
3/2/18, 9:59 PM - I’ve had six of these already and each time I am equally impressed. Nice note you left.
1/15/18, 8:20 PM - And you liked it? Any faults?
1/1/18, 12:35 AM - Flawed, right?
12/28/17, 6:22 PM - Translation: No real notes on this wine but incredibly young and good to have this age. and easily my best Borgogno together with 1964 that was the same evening.
12/14/17, 10:33 PM - A try at translation:Salt flake, rather affordable wine at 160 euros in catering. Concentrated peach, melon and citrus scent. On the palate, we can feel that the wine has started to lose some fat, but it covers the whole mouth with its silky texture and we can see the minerality of this Blanchot. The fruits are still present in addition to white flowers, almonds and toast. Appreciable length and beautiful freshness. A perfect accompaniment to mushroom polenta, mushroom casserole, pike biscuit and trout. Great wine !
12/5/17, 12:17 AM - Bring this to the attention of Rhys. You may get a good outcome.
12/4/17, 11:40 PM - Bummer. Creeping up another year. That edge keeps moving. I have mine at least 51 degrees and hopeful.
11/25/17, 9:36 PM - Sweet urine?
11/26/17, 6:36 PM - Ok Rollerball, I am bringing one to Hawaii from California to catch that wave of sweet ....... There the heat and humidity will bring out any pee scent and the coconuts you mention. Glad it wasn’t sour. Absent a clothespin on my nose, this is an incredibly good wine.
11/26/17, 8:41 PM - Nice. I am in Redwood City. Sounds like a good night for you. I am not familiar with either wine you mentioned. You on Wine Berserkers site?
11/26/17, 9:56 PM - Just friended you so I can peek at your cellar if you permit. My wife and I were just in South of France and visited CDP - Beaucastel and Pegau. I see from your profile that the area was hangout for you earlier on. Lucky you.
11/26/17, 10:07 PM - How?
8/14/17, 12:50 AM - Thanks for the notes. Picked up three.
8/14/17, 12:49 AM - Thanks for the note. Picked up three.
8/1/17, 3:11 PM - Great note CCT. I like the idea of "drinking water" in rose. Beautifully written and descriptive. Three bottles coming my way based on your note. We'll enjoy them outside in California in the garden, thanks to you.
6/25/17, 9:39 PM - Great note, thank you for the details on decant and longevity. I scored three of these some time ago at a decent price due to labels scratched up. Now you have given me incentive to pull a cork.
5/27/17, 8:13 PM - Good Seth, I hope you find it enjoyable. I went so heavy on the 2014 Beaujolais that it's not hard to skip the 2015's. I read your Berserker's comment on the subject. Just friended you here on CT. Dynamite cellar you got there with lots of selections across a wide geographic area.
5/16/17, 7:23 PM - Nice clear note.
3/26/17, 9:36 PM - You are making me feel better. One of my two bottles decided to jump out of the box and dive onto the cement floor where my locker is located. Funny, I took a sniff and thought the nose was just okay.
3/23/17, 10:57 PM - Your thoughts?
3/24/17, 8:09 PM - Thanks. US$39 but still hope age will bring it about.
3/11/17, 8:02 AM - Flawed more than likely.
3/1/17, 11:58 AM - Very informative and well written, thank you.
3/1/17, 3:17 PM - This is a birth year wine for my second son. Bragging, I have 14 put away for him - well 2 for me at least. I also have the blanco.
2/20/17, 8:06 PM - No decant and it was ready right away. We had it over a two hour period. This was my third one of these and all were ready right away. Let me know if you decant and if you taste improvement. Enjoy.
2/20/17, 10:22 PM - Wonderful. Glad it went well. I have four left so I'll report back some other time. I really enjoy the Picasses.
2/15/17, 7:37 PM - You two are very welcome.
1/29/17, 8:50 PM - Yes, a lovely wine which I have consumed 7 of my 8. Cheers.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
