Sadly, my last bottle. Consistent with previous notes only this wine is now at peak and is therefore perfectly balanced, with good weight and fruit on the palate, and a juicy, elegant, lengthy finish. Was outstanding with meatloaf but did just as well on its own. Drink now over the next five years. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

Blind Wine Tasting (Home): This one struggled in the tasting group. Came across as austere and lighter bodied at first, with gamey aromas. Opened up later to more blackberry fruit, but still retained a somewhat bitter, hard finish. Definitely more of a food wine, though great to get into a tasting of this sort.

Consistent with previous notes 21 months ago, except more dark and red fruit has emerged, bringing more precise nuances of raspberries and blackberries against wild herbs, roasted game meat, and mixed cherries. Very linear but well-balanced, juicy, and immensely drinkable. Paired nicely with pizza and salad. Enjoy over the next 5-10 years.

At Barbounia in Flatiron with Bill V. First experience with this wine, and limited prior tastings of Bandol. Splash decanted and drank over 90 minutes.
Red/magenta, translucent and light color. Nose was black cherry, red fruits, faint herbs. Palate was savory, red fruits, cherry, pepper/spicy.
This is a nice casual wine, primal with a medium finish. Went well with the middle eastern fragrant spiced cuisine. Nothing profound but very enjoyable. Would be great Summer BBQ or patio wine...

Decanted 2.5 hours prior to dinner of pan-seared savory pork cutlets, sweet potato, and mixed salad. Dark, deep, purple color. Nose of ripe cherries, green onions, tobacco, and musty funk. Palate follows with full, round dark cherries, olives, leather, tangy raspberry notes, coffee, garlic and herbs, and dirt. Finish is still sharp and slightly dusty, but in a subtle way. A tangy acidity drives this wine, making it great with savory foods or cellaring to drink 2015-2025.

Not decanted. Roasted black cherry, wax crayons, walnut shell, black raspberry, and brewed coffee nose. Tannic, high-acid palate, typical Mourvedre profile, green olive, leafy tobacco and black tea, gets very herbal from midpalate onward. Needs 3-4 years.

Needs a couple of hours to open up. I think there is still a lot more life in this.
Nose of black forest fruits, a little bit of chocolate and some cinnamon. The palate is quite tight but still full of fruit and the finish is very long although the tannin makes it slightly drying - another reason to leave well alone for a few more years.

Full-bodied, dark in color. Nose of black cherry and earth. Flavors of green olive, tobacco, black cherries, leather, tar and spice. Incredibly long finish. Good acidity, integrated tannins. This wine was in great balance and was simply a joy to drink.

Enjoyed this at Le Cigare Volant in Santa Cruz. Notes of earth And leather on the nose. Big and meaty on the palate, with a bit of brett. After a couple of hours some dark berry flavors emerged. Big tannins here, so it needed at least an hour's decant. Paired beautifully alongside a rib-eye topped with house-cured pastrami.

Good everyday wine from the South of France. The nose is soft with hints of raisins and plum. Balance leans more on the fruit side than acid, hints of dark fruit and cherries. Medium finish, lingers more on the front side of the mouth than the back.

Magenta color, translucent throughout. Started out with a faint nose of raspberries. Kept waiting for this to open up but it never really did. Totally flat palate, with the tannins having faded to nothingness. Very weak and one dimensional. More than a bit disappointing.

Such a nice wine! Earthy, rich, great balance between acid, fruit and tannin, and something else.....what...a great big dash of Provence maybe. This is not a super refined type of wine like a great Burgundy, or Bordeaux. Rather, this is a more relaxed and wonderful wine of soul and personality to have with a similar kind of meal. It is very much like its neighbor, the great Domaine Tempier. We had it with grilled Cornish game hens, stuffed with figs and covered with a savory wine reduction sauce.. Out in the open air, beautiful summer evening, laughing with great friends and eating half of ithe game hens with our hands That is how to describe this wine. Every sip fit perfectly.

scents of soy, fresh black cherries, leather and fresh herbs, round and dark on the palate, showing dark berries, mocha, sage and soil, long finish, powerful and balanced, rustic, there is an influence of terroir with this wine that brings out a soulfulness, I love Bandol wines, this would be great with roasted lamb shanks

Medium to full bodied red, intense color, dark fruit on the nose with pencil shavings and earth. Dark intense fruits, dry tannins. Overall very good first impression of Bandol reds. Tasted at Maison des Vins, Bandol

Drinking this a bit early, I think. Seems a bit riper and less structured than the 04 I had recently and fell in love with. Probably just needs time. Kind of primary right now.

Similarly to previous note : a relatively austere style that may not appeal to everyone, but I felt well-made and enjoyable.

Similar thoughts to others here, a very primal wine, a bit unique, from Kermit Lynch.
Savory, meaty, mocha, black cherry. Begs for food.
