Lunch (Schwarzwaldstube, Tonbach): Menu wine pairing: Very fresh and youthful bottle. Wonderful integrated, ripe but electrifying acidity that balanced the residual sugar well. Very delicious and joyful to drink. 91

a little disappointing, felt heavier, without the brilliance of a great wine from this producer or even a great Saar Riesling from a cooler vintage. fruit and tartness were all there, golden tones to the apricot and black currant, but it was pretty 1-D

Cork wet, through. Complex nose, melon, white fruit. Fuller than 2009. More acid? More balanced than 2009. Very good. After 2 hours in bottle less acid, more flat, a bit sweeter tha before. This was my favorite amut now 2011?ong opening, b

Bottle 2 of 3. 4 yrs since last. I can remember thinking this was a complete and utter wonder upon release. I'm no longer so sure about that. This came out very austere, even a bit clumsy, almost disjointed, unbalanced at the very least. Agree with last taster RolfT. Seemingly no faults, but even so, judgement reserved.

Keller Open Afterparty (Weingut Keller): From Magnum. Very ripe in style. Yellow stone fruit, a bit of vanilla and honey on the nose. Ripe and unusual sweet for a Zilliken from this cooler vintage. David Rayer from Mosel Fine Wines who was sitting next to me, told me that the 2010 from Zilliken are in a kind of a "down phase" at the moment. Would give it 5-10 years.

AP 8 11. Wonderful Spatlese from a phenomenal vintage. Lower acid than I would expect from this vintage, but superbly well integrated. Almost overripe fruit, but very clean and no trace of botrytis. Barely any secondary characteristics yet (compared to the Donnhoff 2010s) and tastes like it could have been made yesterday. Beautiful!

Hmm, strange. To be honest not my wine even if I adore Mr. Zilliken. Lacks of complexity and length. Quite ripe notes. Bad phase? Maybe, but my last 2010 bottles were the same. Really good wine, but nothing special and not worth the price tag. Will se what the next bottles were telling.

Nose is like a dry but rich GG with lots of minerality remeniscent of the Volxem wines I've tried.
On palate, distinct fresh peaches. The 2010 acidity cuts through the (almost) auslese sweetness like a knife - great balance and integration despite the piercing acidity of vintage - light with a long lemony finish. Has the slightest greenish hint which agressively tickles your throat - but this will fade with some more time in cellar.
You can enjoy this now or store and wait 5-10 years for it to slim down a bit.

This is not a dessert style sweet wine. This is a very refreshing and extremely delicious wine with lots of acidity that perfectly balances with the sweetness. A huge eye opener for me with regards to sweet wine.

Typisk mosel-spätlese. Eple, lime, og floralitet. Nydelig sødme og herlig - men ekstremt tydelig - sitronsyre hele veien - spesielt tydelig i finish. Flott balanse, til tross for årgangstypisk syre. Svært bra lengde. Fyldig og fin munnfølelse, men lett - tilnærmet "vektløs". Delikat.

Out f-ing standing en varm sommarkväll i juli. Väl kyld med en gnutta restsötma passade bra som rent kontemplationsvin. Intensiv doft och smak. Så gott till lite jordgubbar och lantchips (gräslök/peppar). Varför varför varför har jag bara en kvar...

Drop-dead-gorgeous. So pure and fresh with razorsharp but precise Saar acidity, delicate noble rot and greath length, tastes almost dry despite high residual sugar. This one will last for decades I assume and I could recommend all riesling lovers to buy & stock this wine.

Pale lemon yellow. The nose is lighter and more mineralic than the Ockfener Bockstein. Pure and vibrant with sweet, ripe fruit. The entry is full of peach, pear and apple fruit which becomes richer and more tropical with a luscious mango and papaya note on the finish. Lovely.

Best fit between acidity and sweetness. Spätlese at its best.

Still very sweet, but with austere acidity, yet feels unbalanced. Slight oxidative note makes me wonder about its long term potential.

Nice. Feels sweeter than usual. Perhaps could use a bit more depth/complexity to stand up for the sugar.
