An enjoyable Rhone. Bouquet simple, mild, earthy, berry. Taste moderate balanced cloves, cinnamon, slight black pepper on soft velvety finish. Sweetness is accentuated with a variety of food flavors, so it has a moderate range of complexity. Better with food than alone. Goes well with a combination of strong and complex flavors with a wide range, including salmon bruschetta, pork shank with sweet date and bacon laden chutney. $12 per glass. Event - wedding anniversary at Bo-Beau restaurant in LaMesa, CA.

not much nose. what there is would be light strawberry. long, smooth finish. nothing complex. but a better than average example of cotes du rhone from a superb vintage year in the southern rhone. decent QPR. buy it.

This wine was an 85 on the first day - mostly oak barrel and dark fruit that was disjointed. The second day it was a solid 88 after having let it mellow with some air. The guard on this wine by day 2 was let down, and on the front was kirsch, raspberry, strawberry on the front. Cinnamon kind of crept into the mid-palate and was actually rather enjoyable. The finish was muted, which was the biggest change on day 2, and although there was some kind of tannin in the finish, it was very soft and delicate by comparison. Very nice wine and quite an about-face. "Drink by 2013" is so wrong it's laughable -- 2018-2019 more like it.
I have tried this one twice now, and can't seem to find good reasons to buy it again. It had plenty of great reasons for me to buy it initially: Aaron Pott? Check. Cotes du Rhone? Check. Affordable? Check. But it really doesn't go anywhere after that. Popped and poured the first one - drank with a bit of chill. Double decanted the second one and let it breathe for a couple of hours. Still doesn't do much for me. Herbal notes, earthy notes, and a bit of red fruit. Best thing I can say is that it actually goes pretty well with chocolate. Not so much with a light weeknight dinner.

Ripe dark berry, olive, and a touch of cinnamon on the nose. New world-ish on the palate, with plenty of ripe blackberry. A skosh of tar on the finish works.

Good not great wine that like others have mentioned doesn't stand up to its peers, however the price wasn't bad and it is well liked by the masses I have poured it for.

First off, this wine isn't done. It has quite the longevity to last until the end of 2014. I uncorked this little Aaron Pott collaboration and let sit about 30 minutes............not even close. Let sit another 3 hours. FINALLY - something to talk about. I'll tell you, this wine was rather weak from start to finish, so the notes I got I really had to struggle to get. The nose was black forest woodsy, with some hint of raspberry. On the palate was red fruits, some heat - it was a little disjointed and a little weak. The middle was a little plain - mainly just raspberry, maybe some kiwi or something like that....kind of an acidic dark fruit, that was there in the mid-palate and on the finish. The wine didn't give much on the finish. On the second and third day, the profile just got a little weaker and weaker. Not that impressed. Didn't provide as much as I thought from a Pott inspired wine. If you don't have this one, you're not missing out on much. But, you have to drink this one by 2014 because it will be done.

No real change from my previous note. This is an outstanding QPR Cotes du Rhone....Dark red wine with currants, strawberries and cherry on the nose. Smooth tannins. Very good after a pop and pour, bottle was consumed over an hour. Nice stone fruit dominated finish with a touch of licorice and spice. 70% Grenache (thirty year old vines), 30% Syrah, 13.5% alcohol.

Slow O over 6-7 hours. Initially was very off balance. Heavy on the acid and prominent alcohol. After 4-6 hours began opening up. Strawberries, Cherry cordial, Toasty oak. Acid still very prominent. Light to medium bodied. Went well with dinner after the 6 hour mark. Not bad for sub 20$ bottle but recommend drinking it along with food.

I waited a few days for the wine to settle after it's travel. This is a very interesting wine for the price. Dark red wine with currants, strawberries and cherry on the nose. Smooth tannins. Very good after a pop and pour, but it was even better the next night. Nice stone fruit dominated finish with a touch of licorice and spice. 70% Grenache (thirty year old vines), 30% Syrah, 13.5% alcohol.

Probably could have held this longer in our cellar even though the recommendation was to drink it now.

Bacon, earth, and bitter jelly. In fact, way too bitter and awkward for a decent CDR. There are plenty of great Cotes-du-Rhones for way less money.
$14.99 OH retail

Not as soft as I would expect. A tighter edge to it. More structure, could ease into itself would be my guess.
