Aromas of blackberry and cherry. Soft and open with a fruit forward relaxed style. Flavors of blackberry cobbler, black currant, anise, and hints of menthol. Slight drying tannin on the medium length finish. Improved slightly over the 1st hour.

Good with food, but as a standalone cab it has minimal character. Despite it's early age, there is little oak on the nose and tannins are minimal. No "wow" character here. Complexity is also missing, so I do not expect it to age well. Drink it up soon.

nose: holy beejezus theres a lot of toasty barrel here. 6 months ago it smelled like fresh wood and berries but now it's kinda sickly sweet oak, baking spices and minty frappucino :/
palate: sweet and oaky...disappointing in the extreme! what happened? can a wine change this much in 6 months? pecan pie, latte, wood. tannins/finish are humongous and woody.
ugh i have a case of this. another couple years?

This bottle had such overpowering oak that I could not taste much of anything else. I can't believe that my bottle is typical, based on the other comments.
Black currant, plum, and candle wax on the nose, along with a faraway scent of dill. Sweet oak takes over a bit on the palate, with a skosh of plum and an herbal note keeping it from being cloying. Creamy, with a lush mouthfeel, and ripe tannins on the finish. At $9, this drinks at least twice the price.

Very surprising wine for the price and a very nice everyday wine. Nose is herbaceous with some berry Taste is black berry and very jammy. Finish is tart

Was better than anticipated. Fruit was dominant, tannins subdued. Well worth the price as a wine you can serve on a regular basis for yourselves or guests--won't embarrass.

The first vintage of this since 2007 that shows any varietal character. Very reminscent of the fabulous 2006. Attractive aromas of dark berries, spice and vanilla on the nose. Full-bodied, offering lovely flavors of black cherry and chocolate on the palate. The long, polished finish is full of dark fruit character and subtle notes of cocoa powder, leather and oak. Surprisingly comlex for a wine at this price point. Will probably be even better in another year or two. Round, polished, delicious and as always, an unbeatable value. 88+ 50+5+11+15+7=88

This bottle of 2010 was very good and well made. The wine was medium rose red with a ting of blue. The flavor shows some nice leather and a bit of spice along with the dark berries. The oak is mild but stands clean and the tannins are subtle and long lingering. Tasted with CC Two Vines and CC H3-- all three are very different in style.

Disappointing effort and over the top oak. Dust, ripe fruit and vanilla dominate this wine and offers very little pleasure from a normally solid producer.

maybe needs a little more time in the bottle. Still, a good cabernet for the price. Fruit forward with minimal tannins. Day 2, not quite as good, but still drinkable

Happy New Year! Out with Old & In with the New (Rocknroller's (Kevin's)): Very dark red color. Drank 1 glass on day 2. I didn't have the opportunity to get any of this on day one, but had a glass the following day. Ths nose is a bit herbal, cassis, vanilla wafers, oak. The palate has medium body, oaky, pencil lead, cassis, black cherry, cedar, oak, firm tannins. 88pts. Another hard to beat QPR under $8.00.

Very good rendition of what we have come to expect from Washington state red wines. There is that long sunshine influenced, rich, ripe, smooth fruit backed up with more nuanced secondary flavors than you would expect from a wine in this price range. Deep rich purple color. Nose with some floral scents accenting the blackberry, black cherry and red raspberry fruit with vanilla. Their fruit forward style is just past medium bodied. Very easy on the palate. Some pretty serious tannins. Graphite and cola with the fruit and tannins on the pretty strong finish.

The wine has a decent body and has a mouth coating feel. Not terribly distinctive, and not a tremendous amount of cabernet character. There is some floral notes, the finish is a bit short. Available for 8 bux at Costco it is an OK house red wine pour. I have others I prefer though.

Pretty amazing - I was expecting it to be way over the hill - turned out to be just fine. Columbia Crest, as usual, over-delivers!

Combination of Cabernet Franc and too much oak made for a disappointing wine. Dry, leather, tart cherry, dark muted (almost hidden) fruit.
