I would have to disagree with the last couple notes from 2 +yrs ago or this has evolved into a decent QPR wine. Under good storage since purchase this still has nice deep red color and fruit. While not terribly complex still a nice claret blend for pasta or as we had a sauteed chicken and mushrooms in lemon wine sauce. Would not hesitate to hold a little while longer as it seems to have enough to carry it maybe another year at least but wouldn't probably go too much further. Might as well enjoy soon while its still going good. Enjoy :-)

Cedar, menthol, white pepper, and dried cherries make up the nose of this wine. The tannins are very prominent on the palate, yet the finish was initially flat and unimpressive. You get less than what you pay for in this wine despite that it is moderately priced.

PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Dark purple color. On the nose, dark fruit, some light oak. On the palate, a bit fruit forward with a tart finish. Some oak mixed in. Has some structure, but definitely more of a new world style. That said, I was expecting something much less based on the other notes, so I was pleasantly surprised. 88 pts. Still went very well with a nice steak. Aloha!

This is actually a good wine. It's been cellared 3.5 yrs. I was skeptical after seeing so many poor reviews over 2009-2011. But I guess the lesson here is - cellar your wine. Deep crimson, light currant and blackberry nose, and a med-firm body, not too overpowering oak.

Enjoyed this wine even though it was tasted against much more expensive wines. It had comparable aroma and taste with good tannins on the finish. Was a little lighter body then the expensive Napa Bordeaux blends it was compared against.

Clean, medium minus ruby in color. The nose is clean and developing, with medium minus intensity. The aromas are mostly black fruit (blackberries and black currant) and are quite pleasant. A touch of oak, but not too much. All the components are medium and are all in balance. Drink now, but has potential for aging. Overall this is a good to very good blend of Old World elegance and balance and New World fruit. I would definitely recommend it when you want a food-friendly Cabernet Blend. It is a very good value in the $15 range.

I was surprised when I pulled this bottle out of the brown bag at our blind Cab tasting. I was actually assuming it was going to be something cheaper. The nose was tight and I had a hard time pulling anything specific out of it. The mouthfeel was definitely the strong point on this wine. Round and smooth. The taste however was a bit tight just like the nose and again, hard to distinguish any standout flavors other than a general dark fruit. The finish is where this wine really dropped off for me. It left something of a cheap candy taste in my mouth and then turned bitter at the very end. I wont be reaching for this one on the shelf again.

I'm going to break the trend here and give this wine a 90-point eval! Smooth, without question! Incredibly enjoyable for the price ($45 on a restaurant menu). Beautiful fruit, great nose, well integrated tannins and ready to drink today. Give it about 30-60 minutes in the glass and watch it open up from a spicey, somewhat closed Cali cab, to a luscious Bordeaux style Claret. Well named - well done. Enjoy this value wine!

I think i generally agree with folks on this, surprisingly light bodied in nature, with dark deep fruit on nose and palate - blackberry and cherry. The finish is medium/long in lenght with some oak on there. Smooth for sure. This is bordeaux style with "5 grapes" but CAB Sauv on label and over 80% on web site...again more smooth than i would have thought, perhaps a touch sweet. Is it worth 30$ CAN - not complex enough, but certainly a decent bottle and crowd pleaser.

Undecanted from a preservation machine. Clean and elegant with nice balance of fruit against other elements. Nose of black pepper, spice, hint of chocolate, and perhaps some fruit. Firm acid on the attack, in the mouth sour, ripe, somewhat layered tasty fruit (blackberry, black cherry or cassis) with hints of tar and licorice. Warm finish that lingers with wood and some elements from the mouth. Body medium, acid medium plus, tannin medium. Dry to off dry.

Never having had a Coppola wine I pulled the trigger at a grocery store sale. Its actually quite drinkable and very in-offensive, which can be a good thing really when shopping for $15 wine at the Ohio supermarket. Medium body, with some pure nice fruit, that is actually ripe, yet in this leaner style. If anything it fades quickly. Would make a good party wine where you dont want to think about it but just slurp some non descript red wine. Not a deal but not the disaster I half expected.

On the nose, dark fruit (reminded me of Australian fruity wines) with good intensity, no spicyness, a slightly complex oak and floral lift (no crude edges). Sort of a refined Cabernet mellowed out by -I assume- the other 18% varietals - quite pleasing overall. On the palate, not elegant but delicately rich, peaking after 30-45 minutes decant, very drinkable. After 2-3 hours, the oak became more upfront and the fruit broke down into dried leaves taste and aromas, so beware - but it surely invites to wonder what a little cellaring would give. Overall a good time, ok value. [3.5/5]

Dark, clear. Simple. Cherries, some vanila/oak flavors. Opens a bit, but nothing overly special. Improved somewhat on day 2 - the cherries and vanilla that was so evident have faded a bit, more integrated with the tannins. Or maybe the entire flavor is just fading.

The color was a dark purple. The nose was nice and complex. Bold fresh and floral on the nose. The palate was overall a let down. Not a bang and was kind of mellow and dark. I think the Merlot in this wine mellows it out.

It was trying hard, but just didn't make it for me. Certainly drinkable, but no special quality. I've had less expensive genuine Bordeaux that satisfied more. Aroma: subtle cedar, upon first pour and the same hours later. Taste: green pepper, red fruit, noticeable but brief tannins on the finish.

This is a pretty easy drinking wine, needs a short time to open up (about 30 minutes) but I wouldn't over do it as the wine seems to shut down after about 4 hours. It's a nice way to drink a Bordeaux blend without waiting 8 years, a little fruit forward but not over the top.

Still a bit tight, needs to decant for about 25-30 minutes because right out of the bottle it's very tight and oaky which dominates the back part of the palate like a piece of wood in your mouth. After some time to open up it's more palatable and hits you more in the mid-palate; tastes of blackberry, currant and liquorice, probably can use another 12-18 months in the bottle to be a bit more approachable.

Inky black with a nice nose of black fruits and vanilla. Doesn't hold, however, on the palate. Pretty thin with some oak and raspberry notes. Meh.

bof. mais je m'attendais a pire. J'avais gouté son syrah, vraiment n'importe quoi.. Disons que celui ci est un petit vin qui se boit sans prétention, mais pour le prix on peut en avoir 2 des comme ca..

very nice nose of spice and cigar box. woodsy flavors come thru followed by berries, dark chocolate and vanilla. medium finish with some sharpness. overall all a nice wine and a good QPR at $15.

Very ordinary. If I were in a restaurant, and just asked for a glass of red wine, without being specific, this is what I would expect. I wouldn't turn it down if it was a gift, but I doubt I'd buy it again.

Cherry and Plum, some fairly hefty tannins and oak. Ran it through the Vinturi and it was OK. At the price it is a pass for me, more interesting stuff for my palate at 16 bucks.
