An inviting nose of red fruits and spice. It has flesh and there’s something cool and stony lurking. It is quite creamy through the mid, deep of flavour and long and expansive. Tannins are ripe and acidity fresh. Really good wine.

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting in (great) vertical. Great aromatic start is bright and cheerful. Broad cross-section of cherry flavors with good weight, great length and weightless, nearly ethereal textures. Another great 2010 in the early part of its peak drinking window.

Ok, so I had this wine over a year ago at dinner with friends in DC. Now I went to dinner at a local restaurant in DC and the price was less than retail. Well, I have had 3 bottles in the last 2 months. 2/3 were spur of the moment purchases so the wine was pop and pour. The 3rd was strategic and the wine opened 1 hour before arrival at the restaurant. I did this because I was tired of the wine not opening and expressing its greatness until the end of the meal. I was absolutely right. This third bottle was absolutely incredible. Smoke, dark chocolate, bright cherries. My wife even said it was like the Mon Soiree cherry filled chocolates. Resolved tannins, beautiful elegant silky mouth feel. Balanced flavors yet complex structure. Not aggressive yet not weak in that if felt light but drank bold. Truly still in its youth with a great future. Drink now or hold you will love this wine. Now I need to find a source short of going to Burgundy to try and find. Sorry I don't have more but understand you won't regret acquiring and drinking this wine today.

Clos de Tart Dinner (Tocqueville): The noses on 2010 to 2006 are all very similar, bright red cherry, energetic, clean, youthful, polished but not overwhelmingly woody. ‘10 is unusually thin on the palate. Notwithstanding the ripeness the '09 is the superior and weightier wine.

Violets and florals on the nose with cherry and a hint of darker fruit. Beautiful on the palate. Unctuous and full of fruit. Bursting. Soft tannins, a bit of acidity to raise it and then a long finish. Will go for many years...

Nose of dark fruits, violets. Palate skewing to darker fruit profile, black raspberry, plums, cherry. Beautiful and elegant texture. Wine is drinking well now, showing secondary characteristics on a medium/long finish. Will continue to develop for a while, truly great version of this wine. Great upside...96+

really really nice (and more open relative to my last bottle), had in mexico over three nights, darkish red fruit palate with density and beautiful textured mouthfeel, good acid and with the oak popping out slightly now and then, there is plenty of fruit and good spice, slightly darker and more serious than the d'Angerville Clos des Ducs '10 we had alongside... superb wine for sure

Drank over three nights, NR as this was so young as to be hard to assess, a little astringent at this point so not that pleasurable even as a young drink

[PWS' Clos de Tart Supper at Bellota Restaurant, Melbourne] Translucent medium crimson, faint orange reflection. Reticent black & red cherry bouquet required coaxing to unfurl scents of mineral, dried flowers, boysenberry, spice box & subtle oak influence. Medium full plus, broad, intense, deep, tight, fairly concentrated & dense, sweet, layered black & red fruit flavors sequestered by fair amount of moderately grippy tannins & powdery dry extracts with fine acidity in excellent balance; great density, sustained tension & outstanding precision if only lacking a little vibrancy & finesse. Long, well-defined but robust finish. (92+)

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Colicchio & Sons - New York NY): Tasted in 10/09/03 vertical, brief note. Mostly black cherry aromas with enticing spice, palate showing more red cherry. All very elegant and intricately textured. New oak still a bit pronounced, but that should soften in another year or three. This will most likely reward patience in the cellar.

Blind tasting of 9 2010 reds at VVW, 2.5 oz pours. Wine H. Ranked 2 out of 9. This shows a very pretty nose of spice, cherry and flowers, very alluring, very floral with evident stems. You could almost say it has a DRC type nose, but not quite. Very lithe and lightweight palate, with a solid core of perfectly ripe fruit, this is very tasty today. Finishes a touch dry and lean, but I believe given its youth it will fill out with some years.

Day Five in Burgundy: Bonneau du Martray, Clos de Tart, Faiveley, Niellon (Cote d'Or): Tasting at Domaine. Approx 45-50% whole cluster. Lots of powerful black cherry aromas to start, with hints of red cherry, blackberry, plum, and a meaty almost Gevrey-like spice. Power and density come through clearly on the palate with lots of the same mix of fruits. Tannins seem a bit assertive to start, then soften through middle and finish, where great spice, acidity and minerality bring great textures and harmony. Long finish. 94-95 point potential for me today.

Young, elegant quite open nose with a lot of depth. A lot of minerality among the red berries. Almost "stoney". And then a quite lovely violet marrying fresh nuts and sandalwood. But all aromas are quite subtle due to the young age of the wine. A splendid, harmonious palate that's very round in the mouth. A Lovely, elegant oakiness. Some nice herbal notes and a hint of forest floor. Very concentrated and energetic. Slightly, slightly short finish. Very evidently in need of cellaring. Maybe soon entering the tunnel? Not the most impressive wine in the range and taking price in consideration I would go for a Trapet Chambertin any day.

2nd time with this wine and I am very impressed. It is very deep and complex with black, blue and red fruit. The texture is amazing and even though it is very powerful it comes across as elegant. It is a bit like a top Chambertin in style I think. Very luxury mouth feel. A top cuvee.
