The 2016 Querciabella Mongrana Toscana has been a favorite of mine for a while now, so when I found this 2010 vintage in a local wine store, I thought I'd buy a single bottle and give it a try. It went about how I was thinking it would go. Not as approachable as the 2016 I know and love, but aeration and some standing time helped immensely with the heavier alcohol on the nose. Less fruit tasted and a tad drier for the 2010 right now. While I'm no expert, I do drink a lot of wine, but my opinion is that it's probably a good time to consume your remaining 2010s.

Sad to see last bottle go. This wine has aged incredibly well, just getting better. And air time really improves it. Winemedic review is right on point. A bit fruity on opening, but give it a few hours and this wine sings a beautiful baritone with a long finish.

This one made me excited about the 2010 vintage in Tuscany. This had it going - smoky, old world flavor of the Sangiovese plus some brighter fruit tones from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This is a nice wine that gets better as the bottle drains. Great with a garlic, olive oil, meat, and herbs combination.

Superb nose out of the bottle. Old world table wine by definition. Clear, medium ruby hue. Clean, pronounced nose of earth, violets and fruit. Dry, medium body, medium plus acidity, medium tannins and medium plus alcohol. A Super Tuscan Blend - 50% Sangiovese and then equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Pronounced aromas of red and black cherries, Tuscan herbs and spices, warm wet cedar, vanilla, with hints of olive. Smoothed edges. Long, delicious finish. Really good. very well made and highly recommended

I've had a lot of this wine over the last few years. All but one bottle was very good. A very pleasant medium-bodied super Tuscan that's very versatile with all Italian food. This wine needs 1 to 2 hours decanting to really appreciate it. Great value, a really nice Tuscan wine.

A nice blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Black pepper and thyme aromas lead to dark cherry and red jam flavors. Nice balance of acidity/fruit and medium body with a lasting finish.

From Costco, and good QPR. Very smooth drinking, pleasant, not overly remarkable, but a good one for food pairing or bringing along to a community meal. Not, to my taste, much of a need for further cellaring, it doesn't seem tannic or acidic at the level that suggests much more evolution. Drinking well now, and at a good price.

Did a side-by-side on the last 2009 and 2010 I had. 2009 won. Better fruit and integration. 2010 seemed a little 'light' in comparison. The 88 is for the '09. The '10 I would drop a point or two.

50% sangiovese, 25% merlot, 25% cabernet. The merlot/cab add a great depth of red fruit flavor and complexity that really gives a base underneath the classic sangiovese palate. Very harmonious, with smooth tannins.

Pleasant, smooth, Sangiovese dominated blend. Good QPR. I have one left of 2010 and one of 2009. Will do a side-by-side at some point. Should be interesting.

The wine has medium acidity. It smells like cool/menthol, blackberry, mint and raspberry. The wine finishes short. It tastes like cool/menthol, strawberry, blackberry and mint. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The wine has linear texture.

This is a great wine, but it still is young and needs more time. Much better the second day. Medium to full, fruity, with tannins that still needs to evolve.

Wonderfully fragrant with aromas of black fruit, cherry, anise, tobacco, and vanilla. Same on palate with long sour cherry finish. Velvety smooth tannins and nicely acidic. Very enjoyable, honestly-made wine.
This wine does evolve in the glass. Upon first pouring, it was primarily cherry. These notes were written after about 90 minutes in the glass.
2/13/15: Am drinking the last of my 6 bottles now. Same as original tasting note. I paid $19/750ml and am blown away by the quality of this wine at this price! Wonderfully blended, and 36 hrs after decant (stored in corked bottle after 4 hrs in decanter), the herbaceous notes from the Cabernet really blend with (and support) the supple nature of the Sangiovese. Would buy more, if it were available.....

Lighter style supertuscan with translucent garnet color, cherry nose, and well melded lighter cherry flavors on palate. Good structure and integration of flavors, acid, and gentle pliant tannins.

Medium ruby. Restrained nose initially but opens up quickly to reveal red and dark cherries, olive, liquorice, cedar and sweet spices. Medium-bodied and elegant with soft tannins, balancing acidity and a medium aftertaste. Not particularly complex but unpretentious, elegant and extremely food fiendly. A versatile, very reasonably priced red. Already enjoyable, could keep for another 5 years.

Dark red color. Faint aromas to begin that evaporated to heat over four hours. Firm entry. Tight palate comes across as structure at this point - tannic and acidic. There is a suggestion of cherry, cassis and finishes with soap stone. This needs time. This became more unyielding the longer it was open. I'm not sure it's got the fruit to carry it over the long term. 80

Tasting dinner at La Luna, Godalming. Abbreviated note taking. Smoky hedge fruit aromas with a touch of spice. Carried forward to the palate but a hint of furry unintegrated tannins suggest another year in bottle would benefit this already very good wine.
