Garnet wealthy medium purple. Raspberry and spice with a hint of green. Palate is very dry fruit including dark cherry raspberry. Some notes of pepper.

Dark, opaque deep red color to the rim, with a reticent nose of blue/black fruit laced with vanilla bean. The mouthfeel is fairly light to medium in spite of its varietal profile, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Sangiovese, accompanied by a dusty component that gives up more fruit on the late mid-palate and finish. A very elegant wine that, with warming to “room temperature,” reveals more fruit, tinged with a flavor of sweet grape skin sediment and slightly muted varietal flavors, initially on the palate. Given the varietal composition and regional origin, the wine’s flavors are not as intensely concentrated than one might expect from the same Meritage presentation originating from new world growing etiologies, which is not in any way a negative assessment, but only a point of reference. This delicious wine has aged wonderfully and is a delicious compliment to our crab cakes.

Decanted and paired with lasagna. Black in the glass with a slight meniscus. Blackberry, cassis, herbs (not green). Similar flavor profile on palate. medium body/tannins / acidity with medium+ finish. Best bottle of 4 I bought in late 2014.

Unfortunately no detailed notes all I can say is that I drank this without decanting and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am buying more tomorrow. Drinking brilliantly right now.

Aerated into decanter and then enjoyed over 2 hours. Blackish red color. Nose & palate improved with airtime (needs 2+ hour decant or 1-2 more years). Rubber, bright cherry, black cherry on nose. On palate, black cherry, currants, slightly medicinal flavor profile - fruit profile darkened with airtime. Medium body, medium acidity and medium finish. Should improve with some airtime or 1-2 more years. Preferred the '07 to this vintage (at a similar age). 90+/-

Opulent and lushly fruited with a compact, chunky and taut medium bodied palate with lowish acidity. Has excellent length. Could be excellent in a couple of years.

Crimson-black; black currants, blackberries, lead pencil, cedar, earth; restrained ripe black cherry, cassis, plummy, lush, medium-full body, good acidity, good balance, good depth, silky tannins, long finish. Decanted 2 hrs. Dark berries and plums with Bordeaux-like notes of graphite, wood, earth and tobacco. Ageable with already integrated tannins. Terrific value!

On the nose was tart red fruit, red cherry and currents that later had cherry cola integrated into it. On the pallet there was red cherry, red currents, under ripe red fruit, and nice tannins, that later evolved to integrate cherry cola in it as well. I drank this along side Alto Moncayo Veraton, so the lower rating may be because of the huge Alto Moncayo along side it. (Should have definitely drank this first) The 2007 was fantastic, so I will revisit this again to be sure I got this right. Great QPR and a nice everyday drinker - 87 points.

Needed air time to shine. Dark blackish red color. Blackberry, plum, black-cherry on nose (menthol & tobacco with airtime). On palate, black cherry, blackberry (fruit primary) with medium body, medium acidity and medium+ finish with nice tannic grip. Great mid-week food wine & should improve. Good QPR. 90-91+. Didn't really improve overnight though.

PnD. Purple garnet. Earthy cherry aromas. Bright cherry flavours with herbal savoury notes. A bit short on the finish.
