Tasted this last 2 years ago when we visited the winery. For this note, I opened the bottle yesterday and we drank down about 2/3rds of it, and with the low ABV (12.4%), reminiscent of Champagne in that we could do a few glasses and not feel impacted from the alcohol. Shows a golden color, and maybe I can see a bit of bruised apple quality in the wine. I don't perceive the wine as advanced but the color gives me some pause. The aromatic reflects a light toasted aroma. Aside from the color, the flavors remind me a lot of what I found two years ago, anchored in flint, some tangy pineapple, green apple, citrus pith. Finishes a little savory, with perhaps a note of dried herb.

Tasted as part of a Brosseau chard vertical we did with Wells @ the winery. 12.4% ABV. First time I have drank this wine, which seems kind of odd given all the Copain in my cellar. Pippin apple, lemon zest and oil, light pineapple, finishing with a flinty energy that is cool. No rush on drinking this vintage as it's built well and of all the vintages of Brosseau chard, it's the only one in the 12% range, FWIW.

Paired perfectly with Organic grilled Irish salmon. Golden color. Aromas of fresh-cut straw, Honeysuckle and lemon zest. Fruit flavors still strong Tart tree fruits. Medium body and medium plus too long finish. Not sure how I came upon a 2016 drink by date, but this wine has at least another year. Adjusting date to 2018.

Quite nice Chablis-esque Chardoonnay from Cali's Central Coast. No noticeable oak...check! Very refreshing acidity...check! Minerality behind citrus fruit...check! 12.5% abv?...check! $50 price tag...ouch! Why can I get this type of LOVELY wine from Chablis for $20-25, yet I have to pay double in Cali? I love supporting local, but not at twice the price. Kudos to Copain for even trying (and succeeding) in making a wine this light and lovely.

Clear with a medium lemon greene colour, looks developing.
On the nose its medium intense with aromas of lime, red apples, tropical fruit, herbal note, hint of oak and butterflowers
On the palate its dry with medium+ acidity, %, body and flavour intensity with aromas of lemon, red apples, oak, butter, tropical fruit. Medium+ finish
Very good quality wine,91-92p with potential for agening

-translucent light gold -reduction funk, citrus, white fruits -med+ acidity, med- weight very sappy concentrated mid-palate with sweet lemony minerality, touch of wood on moderately long and decently complex finish -great cut and focus give it a Burgundian feel, this seems to have both filled out and picked up energy over the past 8 months, drinking very well now and potential for a few more years of upside

Bev & Rob's Fri nite blind: First white wine of a blind tasting. On the nose, no perceptible oak, smelled of lemons and chalky minerals, first thought was Chablis. On the palate, very linear focus of flavors in the citrus realm, finishing clean and tight, with fairly tense med+ acidity and a med length finish of rocks and slate. Almost Muscadet-like. This wine is high quality and delicious, ended up being my favorite of the 3 whites tasted blind tonite. Drink now through 2018+. Delicious. I was impressed to see, once revealed, that Copain had tricked me into Chablis (which I adore). Beautiful effort. However, at $50, it should be.

Whole cluster, 14 months neutral and then back into stainless steel. The vineyard site is unique: in Chalone appellation, a three acre site right across from the original Chalone vineyard. Very crisp pear, lots of minerality, intense and linear across the palate.
PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs -translucent light gold -reticent, slight reduction, lemon custard, -barely med acidity, salinity dominates, lemon pith and tart green apple, med/med- weight with somewhat hollow mid-palate -ok, Chablis-esque but less dynamic and interesting than the 2011

IPOB in SF 3/16 - Quick Impressions: Like the DuPratt Vineyard Chardonnay, this stands out for its silky richness paired with its bright high tones. Shows a little more spice and earth and a little more melon fruit than the more citrus-driven DuPratt. Excellent.

Showing well now. Drink in next 2-3 years.
