Good structure and very balanced with less rough edges than Haut-Medoc often has. Dark fruits, plum, nice minerality and soft tannins. In an early drinking window and very pleasant to drink now without decanting.

I'm just finishing my last 375 ml bottle. I'd bought a case. 2015 Chateau Charmail has been one of my favorite bordeaux wines. Now it is tasting very good when poured from the bottle. Haut-Medoc. Delicious.

Found this bottle surprisingly in a big retail store in my hometown, have had several bottles of this chateau from other vintages before, 2015 is my favourite vintage on the younger side, mostly well structured and convincing, what a Bordeaux nose, clean, rich of black fruit, spice, very good grip with ripe and lively tannin, teeth fogging indicating its youth, full load of rich dark fruit, cassis and plums, quite mineral core, still very young showing, a bit rough in the long finish, will improve during the next decade, very good Cru Bourgeois, **(*+?), around 89-91

Dark clear red, 1st nose, black cherries; 2nd nose, plums and oak; on the palate, silky, high viscosity, big body, smooth and with long finish. Beautiful marriage with seared duck breast and St. Agur blue cheese.

At the open: Smells of savory red fruit, complex earth, leather, and smoke Tastes of light sour red fruit with lots of a tannins and an austere finish
1 hour: Smells of almost Burgundian rich red fruit and earth (strawberry brambles) Tastes of chewy & scratchy wood with complex fruit
2 hours: Smells of sweet purple fruit + wet earth Tastes of scratchy fruit that is exciting and pleasing at first, but it evolves quickly to a confusing bitter burning finish.
Medium-Full Bodied Needs a lot more time.

Bordeaux Wine Tasting (San Diego Wine Co.): 38% C.S., 35% Merlot, 14% C.F., & 13% P.V., from vines ave 30 yrs of age, grown in the gravelly clay soil of a single, hilly 68 acre plot "alongside the Gironde river in the commune of Saint-Seurin de Cadourne next door to the Saint-Estèphe appellation area; Typically, the harvest is steeped for 15 days at 5°C, using dry ice; fermentation for 7 days; about 10 days of final maceration, fermented from 25-30°C with temp regulation, then aged 1 yr in barrels (1/3 new)." Typically 9-10,000 cs bottled unfined & unfiltered.
N: Closed; Smoke, earth
P: LM body; NICE, almost swtish frt fairly quickly met by astringent pucker which slowly, fairly seamlessly, only somewhat resolves by the LONG, very slightly spicy, poss very, VERY slightly bitterish finish with OCCASIONAL hints of the swtness to come? Though I'm FAR from a Bordeaux savant, this SEEMS "classically" done (at least for a "ripe" vintage). NEEDS through '21, poss more, then EASILY drinking well for > its 10th. 14% ABV; My EXC-, more down the line almost a lock! 92 pts Jeb Dunnuck, 90-92 WA, 91 ea WE & Suckling, 89 Jeff Leve, 88-90 Vinous (Galloni), 88 ea Jeannie Cho Lee & Decanter, 16.5 & 16/20 Jancis Robinson, and 15/20 Bettane et Desseauve; [This vendor's $24.99 puts it in the bottom 1/2 of wine-searcher's entries.]

Two hours in the decanter. Almost nothing to offer aromatically. It does, however, pick up significant weight and depth with air. The fruit leans dark, though with some tart cherry as a counterpoint. A little bit of cedar and smokiness, as well. No obvious wood. The tannins are extremely ripe, and only become apparent with air. In fact, after a while they come to dominate the fairly lengthy finish. Well-made wine from a very obviously ripe vintage.

My bottle is not "light" or "soft" like some previous taster's notes but rather medium-bodied, decent concentration and bright fruits. My notes said, "tart cranberry/currant flavors, good tannic grip, saline quality on finish, dry"...
I wouldn't get another bottle because I don't like cranberries in my wine. I like darker, deeper, warmer cabernet/merlot flavors.
However the wine has enough structure and concentration and finesse to merit 9o+ points. You just have to like very bruit slightly astringent fruit that hopefully someday will turn into a pretty floral balanced wine...

Yummy Bordeaux, and an incredible value. I would put this up against any American Cabernet or Merlot price $40 or less. Gorgeous purple Ruby. Fragrant with violins and purple fruit. Rich mouth feel with fine-grained, chewy tannins. True winner here, worth buying by the case. 5-12-17-9: 93/100.

With ripe, juice, fruit, soft tannins and a finish that delivers with a light, soft, deep red berry touch, give this a few years and it will be even better.

Cru Bourgeois to be classified again (Château Belle-Vue): An old favorite of Robert Parker, and deservedly so, this blend includes a whopping 11% Petit Verdot, along with 41% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot at 14% alcohol. Yields at 43 hectoliters per hectare. Quite a powerful nose, with cool fruit as well as burgeoning tobacco and plum. Richness on the palate, but also grip and finesse. A hint of drying however on the finish? Still, pretty darn good.

A blend of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 13% Petit Verdot, this medium bodied, crisp wine opens with cocoa, spice and fresh red fruits, bringing you to a peppery character in the finish. 88 - 90 Pts

Still a quite simple bordeaux but nice. Initially shy on nose but becomes more interesting after 1-2 hours. Pop this now but decant for an hour!

Nice at this stage. Good nose and tannins are mellow but a slight sourness to the finish.

Le vin, légèrement dominé par le Merlot, se présente actuellement très charmant et accessible. Indiscutablement un bon Cru Bourgeois.

Pencil shavings, plum, cassis, tobacco, black pepper. Tannins are a little soft but plenty of savory flavors. Solid value.
