The wine have got a few years in cellar since previous bottle. This bottle is definitely much better. Crisp, stringent an clean with some maturity notes. Perfectly balanced and the best showing so far from Palmer & Co 2008. It's ready to drink, but it's no hurry.

Gourmetklubbens femtiosjätte middag (A+N, Sundbyberg): (Disgorged in 2016, 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay) Light yellow colour with a greenish hue and a maturing nose showing citrus, chalk and hazelnuts in a very pleasant way. Crisp citrus acidity on the palate in a still very youthful way. With a butterscotch note on the finish. (Best 2018-2033)

Some perfyme, pears, lemon juice, peach and roasted almonds.
On the palate there is some grapefruit and lemon with white bread and almond icing. Still quite young with good acid.
Have had Palmer some times now. The wine is good but lacks in character and personality. You expect some more from a wine on magnum, vintage -08 and with 9 years on lees. Average I would say.

Goddamn! I'm not a big fan of the bubbly stuff. But when I do like it, it's often Palmer that's behind it. A lot of citrus. yeast (toast), gooseberries, Grows. Pretty amazing after a few hours. A tad gunpowder comes into play. 91-92

Best on the second day, without food, and drunk out of Zalto universal glasses which seem to fit well. Brioche, grapefruit and dust. Rich but sharp, it is attractive and bitter at once. Quite dry. Holds very well. Will perhaps improve?

This time it was even slower in opening up: Only the last glasses on the second day (after recorking with a champagne stopper) showed all it had. Curiously though, the nose was at its finest minutes after opening on the first day. For ageing, I think.

This was good! Beautiful focused brioche nose with crisp citrus. At first extremely acidic then more harmonious and easy to drink. Good length. Could probably improve with further ageing.

(Disgorged in the fall of 2016) Light yellow colour with a intense stream of bubbles that lead way for the lovely nose filled with bread, minerals and a hint of rose flowers. Palate shows typical freshness and acidity of the vintage with a long lime peel finish. This was surprisingly good and with lots of intensity, but perhaps a bit thin middle part. Yet with lots of life left it will hopefully evolve very nicely over the next decade. Best 2018-2028.

Quite nice, candylike fruit, good, chalky minerality, relatively fine mousse and a good meassure of charm. It lacks some complexity and depth and the finish is a tad short but overall a pleasure to drink.

Last time I had a Palmer brut millesime (the 2002) I thought it was awfully sweet. The 2008, however, is a lot dryer, making this champagne quite attractive. Very young, of course, but as with other 2008s already drinking very well.

Great value from a very good vintage. Will improve over the next few years. A fresh Champagne with notes of ripe apples, lemon (zest), tropical fruits and a touch of toast.

It is nice. Good but not great. If I would call this a simple champagne then this is a fantastic one. It has loads of tropical fruit in both nose and palate. Passion fruit, pine apple, some ripe apples. No bready, buttery or even nutty tones at all. Very good to drink now as an aperitif. Do not think this will improve with age. Drink now and enjoy.

Very pale straw in colour with lively mousse. Muted aroma initially but comes to life with some coaxing to bready, chalky scents with a hint of white peaches and lemon zest. Bone dry palate with good acidity and decent finish. Could do with a few years on its back, but very nice already. Good value from this top vintage.

Even though, this is a coop Champagne, it is really good. Juicy and rich, so that it seems that partly fermented in oak, though, I didn't find any support for this theory. With air the nose develops into a lovely rich caramel and a bit toasty bouquet. High accidity, but doesn't tear you apart, not that tart, just young. I am with T.Stevenson on this one - excellent!

Nose with a spicy hint of rubber funk, minerals and sweet white fruit perfume. Piercing clean high acidity of the vintage, minerals and sweet apples and stone fruits on the palate. A bit too sweet for my liking, the dosage seems to be a bit high, or at least not yet absorbed and integrated, and this brings the whole impression down a bit. Acidity however helps to create a better balance, so overall a decent showing, and a good aperitif.

Just a few months of cellaring and the wine is clearly richer. Brioche, red apples, some oxidative notes, just a hint of salty toffee.
