I usually think this wine is one of the best red wine values in the world. Not sure about this vintage, though. Some simple sweet fruit, a few hints of Nebbiolo character, and not much else.

This is a huge crowd pleaser that drinks well above its weight class. Desparately seeking another case of this. Buy it if you can find it; the ‘16 is inferior. Edit: case acquired! Edit: boooo, the place I thought I had acquired the case from mixed up the '15 and '16.

At excellent QPR, usually a great everyday drinking wine. Being from a warm year, 2015 is a particularly good vintage for this wine. Typically, mainly Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto with a little Freisa, Albarossa and Pinot Noir. Deep, dark red. A fresh, fruit driven nose. Black cherries, wild blackberries and blueberries, plums, spices and a touch of dark florals. In the mouth, an initial impression of sweet juicy, wild berry fruit. Yet the wine is dry and a touch savoury. Blackberries, morello cherries, spices, cola and earth. Good energy and decent weight and volume for an entry level wine.

Tweaked in each vintage this is said to generally be a blend of; 20% Nebbiolo, 30% Dolcetto, 30% Barbera, 10% Albarossa and 5% Pinot Noir. PnP and slow ox for an hour prior to dinner. Semi translucent red color. Over the vintages I've had this rosso I've vacillated between raving fan to meh. But most of the time it rocks like this 2015. This edition is as an good as I've ever tasted. Vajra is my all round favorite Piedmont producer and this entry level cuvee should not be overlooked with its amazing; balance, elegance, ernegy and depth. Perfuse aromas of; fresh berries, spice and tobacco leaf. This cool blend offers a tasty cornucopia of; fruit, spice, mineral, and Piedmonte garrique if there is such a thing. 13.5% alc that feels and taste more like 12%. Paid $15, drinks more $25+.

A blend of Barbera (40%), Dolcetto (25%), Nebbiolo (25%) and Freisa (10%). 13,5% alcohol. Tasted blind in VV.
Quite translucent pomegranate color with a black cherry core. Open, youthful and pretty expressive nose with vibrant, perfumed aromas of red cherries, some raspberries, a little bit of stony or gravelly minerality and a hint of crunchy dark berries. The wine is medium-bodied, ripe and slightly sweet on the palate with juicy flavors of wild strawberries, some sweet black cherries, a little bit of tart cranberries, a hint of crunchy raspberries and a touch of vanilla. The wine is medium-plus in acidity with quite gentle medium tannins, both which make the wine feel pretty soft and mellow. The finish is a bit more grippy with some noticeable tannic action, a little bit of sour cherry bitterness and overall rather ripe flavors of strawberries, black cherries and a hint of sweet, slightly vanilla-tinted oak.
A nice and enjoyable Langhe red with rather little character - instead of combining the best of each variety, the flavors and distinctive characteristics seem rather muddled, making the wine a bit lacking in focus. Furthermore, the wine seems to suffer from the hot vintage 2015 - a wine from a cooler vintage with higher acidity would perform a lot better. Nice stuff, but expensive for its quality at 18,90€.

Echoing the prior notes, this is punching way above weight class, consistent with past years. Compared to ‘14 this is more structured and medium weight, and the bouquet is familiar fruit, florals.

Another great showing for this, soft floral, sweet fruit that is easy, fresh acid but more grip than either suggests, terrific QPR, consistently delicious, might be my favorite in the Vajra lineup outside of the Bricco Della Viole.

Fresh and intoxicating perfume of fruit blossoms, cool climate meadow flowers, tree ripened fruits, juicy red berries, root vegetables, rhubarb, herbs, and spice. Vivacious, firm, and layered. Impressive tension, lift, and roundness. Deceptively medium bodied, excellent acidity, light dusty tannins. Tangy and substantive finish. The wine over delivers! 90-91.

This was my first tasting of the 2015 vintage and this offering continues to impress vintage after vintage. After buying the 2014 vintage by the case and sharing it with friends as well as becoming one of my GF and my daily drinkers, the 2015 vintage has all the complexity and overall deliciousness of the prior vintage.
Deep garnet in color, this wine reveals black fruits including blackberry, plum, black cherry and violet on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with overt dark fruit and sweet tannins that make it easy to drink more than one glass. The finish brings the dark fruits, sweet tannins and acidity together seamlessly. 13.5% abv.
Purchased for $14US, this vintage carries on the joy and excellent qpr that 2014 brought to me. Buy this one by the case. I am.

Popped and poured. Medium ruby colour. Sweet red fruit, dry soil, spices and vanilla on the nose and palate. Impressive depth for a wine at this level. Food friendly and very versatile. At just $25 a bottle, this is proper house-red material (89-90 points).

All the red grapes that they grow. About 1/3 each Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera, then some Fresia treated like a Barolo, Albarso and a touch of Pinot Noir. Designed to be stylistically and cost wise to be approachable. And on the nose, that is very true.
Fresh and kinda delightful. Easy going but tasty.
