Quite toasty on the nose with hints of dulce de leche. Zingy, electric acid-driven palate but also quite full in the mouth. Heavily toasted bread, apple, pear, honey and just a hint of membrillo as well as salty oyster shell on the long finish. There are fantastic elements at work here, but somehow as a whole it is wanting. Drink now-2027 90

Constat, trop cher.

The smell of the bin as if you’d just run a line of red delicious and golden apples through the juicer. Sour, raw, seed laden apple core. As always, wonderfully good vintage sparkling for about $20. It’s Pinot driven, rich and fruity and you register the 6g of residual digest.

Transparent yellow. Nose of golden apples/apple juice. Bone dry with medium acidity, but felt more acidic (in a bad way) due to a lack of fruit and bitterness on the palate. Unenjoyable.

Slightly more creamy than previous vintages, with nose and notes of apple, yeast, and slight citrus flavors. Clean and with enough acidity to come of as fresh, a solid Oregon sparkler.

Always crisp and clean, with white stone fruits, brioche, apple, and a touch of citrus. This is the vintage when the ratios were slightly changed resulting in a creamier feel than previous vintages. Perhaps a little acidity was lost. Nice brut.

Luscious notes of stonefruit, loquats, citrus, and yeast. Crisp, fresh, and so tensile, with impressive density and brightness. With so many layers of flavors, textures, and complexity it's accessible now but has the bones to age. The best vintage Argyle Brut I've ever had.

From Argyle we are basically guaranteed a sophisticated Vintage Brut with nothing to prove for an extremely reasonable price. 2015 is a 70-30-10 blend of Pinot, Chardonnay, and Meinier with a dominant earthy wininess. Crusty bread, apple core, and lemon zest filling out the profile. Crisp, sharp, confident. What I always want.

Crisp and clean, with green apple, citrus, pear and notes of brioche. Not particularly deep or big, but solid and easy to drink. Although not my favorite vintage, these bruts are always well received and represent a good qpr.

Well made wine. Very bright and crisp and tons of lemon and green apple. Missing a bit of toast or baked apple for my taste, likely indicative of a typical cool climate Oregon style.

Light, pale gold in color with a constant & fine perlage. Full, fragrant, & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of green apples, citrus notes of lemons/limes & pear with overtones of yeasty/brioche & floral notes, some baking spices & minerals notes. Light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, zesty, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, lemons/limes & pear with yeasty, creamy, baking spices & minerals. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the fruit & structure to continue development with additional aging. Constantly a solid with a very good QPR for domestic bubbly. [A blend of 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay & 10% Pinot Meunier].

Basically same as note from 12/24. I've drank this in many vintages, and this one doesn't seem to me to be among their best. I think I may have read somewhere that they used a lot more Pinot Noir than usual in this vintage, not sure that's what the difference is or not.

The Second Annual Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine: Retail $28. 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Meunier. Relatively clear, nice tart nose, pineapple. Tart and fresh on the palate, completely dry with green apple a go-go. Nice. Excellent. 91-93 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com

For the price, this stuff slays. Zesty lemon, saline, chalk, bread crumbs on the nose. Very crisp, dry, nervy, with juicy yellow apples, yellow plums and orange peel flavors. Notes of ginger, chalky and bread crumbs woven in well. This producer never fails me with value-driven bubbles, and this is no exception.

High acidity. Initial flavor on palette is great (bright green apple and citrus) but it is lacking on the finish. The finish reminds me of a harsh alcohol flavor, almost like a shot of vodka. Honestly, Gruet or even Burlwood Brut from Aldi is better.

Green apple, crisp mineral slate, oyster shell, firm acid and lemon curd.
Nothing terribly complex, but not your basic run of the mill entry level sparkler either. Really enjoyed this and it paired well with grilled oysters on the half shell and grilled ling cod

A change from previous vintages, instead of the aprox 50/50 Pinot/ Chardonnay mix, it is now 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, and 10% Pinot Meunier. This new mix shows on the nose and palate as a tendency more toward red fruit than previous vintages. Still a nice Oregon sparkler that is slightly sweeter, and seems to lack a bit of the crisp edge and flintiness of previous wines.
