Opened and paired with olive oil and herb pork cutlets and mixed salad. Dark purple color with a crimson hue. Funky nose brings garrigue, purple lavender, and blueberry compote. The palate is full, square, and tangy, bringing a nice dark core of rhubarb, black licorice, and blackberries mixed with high-toned red cherries. Simmering beef stock, wild game, and mushroom soy sauce emerge on the tannic finish. This is drinking in a good early window now but will be best 2026-2032. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.

Very dark ruby core fading to pink with a thin watery rim. Expressive nose of dark raspberry, dark cherry, barnyard and sweet tobacco. Palate is of more dark red fruits and mineral. Full-bodied with grainy tannins, this leads to a medium-length aftertaste of cherry and eucalyptus.
This was the third of my six bottles. The first was tasted two years ago and had much more barnyard funk. The funk seems to have receded (darn it!) and been replaced with more primary dark red fruits. Paired very well with grilled venison and mushroom risotto. Good now, but I will hold my next bottle for a couple years and the last for perhaps six more years.
The return to a true classic (Willi's Wine Bar, Paris): Surprisingly polished and round, granted lacking a complex side but still ever so polished and smooth. Big wine, punchy but also the fact that is a "lesser" bottling (akin to their village bottling in Burgundy speak) makes it also lighter, softer on the ripeness and most likely makes it easier to approach younger like now. Pretty wine 91 easy.

Juicy, a bit jammy to begin with but faded off and went more towards herbs and spices. Good wine but not something that took me by surprise. Maybe It could be fun to taste it again in 10 years time.

- Brick color and aromas of cherry, tea, black pepper and raspberry. It's balanced and has flavours of black pepper, raspberry and cherry with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a long finish.

Medium red; broad red berries, licorice, lean somewhat acidic body, lacking some fruit, light tannins, appears somewhat unbalanced with a little sweet taste at the end

Au restaurant. Ouvert et bu durant 2 heures. Belle robe rubis, brillante. Au nez, arômes de fleur blanches et d'épices, de petits fruits rouges type groseilles. En bouche, frais et suave en même temps, équilibré avec une bonne acidité et des tanins déjà bien polis. Longueur correcte. On peut commencer à le boire.

First Wednesday Wine Club (Napoli in Bocca, Haberfield): Served blind. Jubey blackberry, spice, rocky minerality, slightly volatile, smidge of struck match. Medium plus intensity acidity, talc textured tannins, blackberry, fresh, slight alcohol warmth. I guessed Rhone, good vintage...possibly 2015...bit of mud on the face on this one as I should have got this...

Probably a bit earlier but this is already very interning.not much on the nose, and what is there is funky. In the mouth red berries, strong acidity, eucalyptus finish, white pepper

Should have probably waited a while to drink but was in a setting where it made sense. Great structure while not being overpowering. Solid balance between being rustic and refined. Great fruit and spice.

This wine is funky. Very earth driven. Definitely pair with red meat. I let it decant for two hours before trying. Semi dry for sure with earthier flavors. Can’t explain that smell but dEf doesn’t have a fruit flavor or smell This wine is very interesting. Can’t wait to see what it will taste like in a few years. Or more!!!!

Decanted for 2.5 hours. Aromas of smoke, raspberry and matchstick. Bit concerned because it’s close to sulfur. Flavors of smoke, raspberry, iron and touch of fig. Ends with a 20 second finish with iron and earth. Going to say this is flawed for now but will see if it evolves. Could just blow off.
Update: not sure if this is flawed. Sulfur blew off a bit but certainly seems to be off but not totally sure.

W totally overpriced waygu T-bone at Local in WY. The steak was good but not what they charged us. The wine was great fit, probably a bit young but very drinkable. Good fruit, body and length. Yummy bottle. I had forgotten about existence of this wine.

Tempier tasting and lunch (Restaurant Rijsel, Amsterdam, NL): A rainy year. Wonderfully forward and open, cherries and garrigue, creamy and fresh, firm but gently extracted tannins are enveloped in youthful flesh, appetisingly tight finish, very good length. Drink in the first decade of its life.

Pnp. First nose a bit rustic with wet ground, garrigue, blackcurrant, liccorice and ashes. The hue is ruby, middle thick. Mouth is built, on heat, tannins and minality. Flavours of vegetal blackberries, bitterness of licorice stick. Let's let it settle.

Suprisingly accessible with a 1hr decant (I've had other vintages that weren't nearly as drinkable at this youthful stage). Nice mix of red and black fruits with hints of savory herbs. Crisp acidity keeps things taut and lively. This wine will only improve with age, but I really enjoyed it now. 91+ point potential with age.

Medium deep bright red. Opens with Brett and evolves into ripe red & black fruit. Reasonable level of sweet fruit. Reasonable soft seamless palate. It’s far softer and more approachable than expected.

Very young but clearly a classic vintage for this cuvee with smooth dusty tannins along with flavors of slate minerals and garrigue spices. Another couple of years to reach peak. 90+

I enjoyed this during a class focused on Kermit lynch, and over a couple nights, this showed a bunch of different looks. On open and after decanting for a couple hours I got huge magical notes of herbs and spices, flowers and earth. Unfortunately that only modestly translated into the taste itself as over the hours this became less dimensional and more just a “good” southern France Mourvèdre blend. Night two and this was still very good, maybe a touch hot, and only intermittent wafts of that magical smell. I think this was probably too young. Next one will hopefully have a longer runway.

Tasted blinded initially (not my speciality to say the least), thought australia Syrah.
But clearly the mourvedre (GSM) varietal showed through. This was an incredibly enjoyable wine. Lot of fresh fruit, soft non-forward tannins.
A wine to be enjoyed with or without food and easily consumed over time with good company

Needed a 3 hr decant to come alive.
At first it seemed heavy and disjointed.
Then after breathing, the lovely minerality, red & purple & blue fruit, and "animale" showed.
Enjoyed with some chicken and gravy, enjoyed with some squid in tomato sauce, enjoyed on its own. The wine is a gastronomic's delight.
If you have multiple bottles, by all means experience one now. If you have a single bottle, hold for at least 3 years.
