First note at pop n pour was butterscotch. Very seashelly palate. Second day was more fresh and seashelly. Bitter mineral notes. Feeling Assyrtiko in its light extract.
Day 7 and really hitting its stride.

Last tasted in 2020, when this was still very youthful and remarkably crisp and energetic for a Dauvissat from such a warm vintage. It has now reached maturity, it has an expressive nose with nice complexity (apple, citrus, aromatic green herbs, oyster shells, whiff of salted butter); lovely balance on the palate, silky texture perfect weight, calm and flowing; gentle bitters on the slightly savoury finish, good length. Drink now and over the next 2-3 years.

Citrus and crushed oyster on the nose. The palate is concentrated lemon, grapefruit, and orange with an intense savory finish. This wine is a serious banger for a village-level Chablis. Also 2018 is proving to be an awesome vintage - don't believe everything the critics say. It's a sleeper hit for white Burgundy.

Very tasty; served with seared halibut; initially had some honey on the nose which made me a little nervous; but with about 10 minutes that disappeared and it showed ripe lemon, apple, pear, and sea breeze. Iodine, sea breeze, and stone become more prominent with air and this gains freshness and intensity with time. Good stuff. Not sure I'd plan to let this run a long time in the cellar, but certainly seems to have plenty in the tank currently.

Vus le millésime solaire et la récolte abondante, je pensais que le vin serait souple et un peu dilué… mais il n’en est rien. Ouvert et bu sur 2 jours, pommes rouges et citron, acidité bien marquée, bonne tension, vraiment très bien. 90-91

On the nose, and indeed on the attack and mid palette, this was simply a very very good Chablis, with concentration of lemon more associated with 1er cru bottlings. However it takes on another dimension on the finish with spiced apple and lemony bitterness in beautiful balance.

Rather understated, served blind this seemed quite lean at first look, but fleshes out considerably with 30 minutes of air. I’d consider a decant if opening one now. Rather mineral, saline driven with lemon pith and rind. 89+

The nose is honey drizzled over river rocks. The palate is ripe and fruits have a candied quality. It has a low acid feel and just lacks a bit of tension.

A very good quality village-level wine but from a lesser vintage. Has nice Chablis character, this sports impressive weight and solid mouthfeel. However, it is more opulent and honeyed than I prefer. Enjoyable now, this will hold in the near term but don’t hold it long.

What a superb bottling. No decanting required but make sure your meal is at least two hours long so you get to experience its evolution. Gorgeous aromas of green apple, oyster shells, lemon, lemon pith, a hint of lime, very floral, and a slight pitch of honey with some time but more of a subtle texture. An hour or more after opening, a bit more alcoholic scent comes out, wine becomes a bit smoother depending on the food pairing. The honey characteristic is definitely from the wine’s fourth year aged in bottle, so it will have more potential to develop. Far more enjoyable than when it was opened in 2020 and maybe in 2021 if I remember. Share a bottle of this vintage with those who get it, regardless of if they know the cost is that of other people’s 1er cru's

A nicely balanced Chablis with the rich fruit of the hot vintage paired with a nice acidity, structure and very good length. Impressive for the level. Still on the younger side, no problem for consuming right now.

Tasted at the Whitewater Valley Wine Society, Hampshire, UK. A Christmas evening featuring wines in the style drunk by Charles Dickens in the 19th century. Presented by Chris White of Ellis, from whom Charles Dickens purchased his wines.
Medium gold colour. Buttery and plenty of lemon fruit, then pears and apples. Perhaps still a little young? Will keep 2-3 years.

Dauvissat plus X Tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): *** all wines tasted blind *** Glass: Zalto Bordeaux Clear, medium yellow color. Interesting nose: Some vegetables, lean, but also immensely deep and complex. On the palate round, very mineral and dense. 13% abv. High acidity. Good pressure. Ripe stone fruit, good extract, some fine oak. Good balance and tension. Long finish. Very young. Beautiful entry wine. 90-91+

PnP next to a 15 Raveneau Chablis. This showed about 90% as well. Clean in profile, with lemon curd, faint tropical notes (the Rav was more exotic), fantastic weight and cut for a 2018. Actually a relatively solid value around in its class.

superb dry extract and length. Almost tropical but not quite golden apple and white stone fruit-citrus, not creamy but very rich and concentrated with screaming acid. To the other notes, this was certainly more ripe on the nose and had a lot of concentration, but the palate showed a lot of restraint that belied there aromas. I haven’t tasted 2018 widely, but those I have tasted fared very well.

I think this is actually my first bottle of the village level Dauvissat Chablis. As I would expect it is excellent. The nose is classic Chablis with iodine, sea breeze, green apple, lemon peel, pear blossom, and stony hints. The palate is very good for a village level with very good depth and concentration, lovely racy acidity, and a nice balance on the finish. This shows absolutely no signs of a very warm year as it is not exotic or heavy at all. Very tasty and high quality village. Better than many a 1er cru.

Have tried many chablis 2018s so far and most if not all exhibited a very distinct exotic fruit smell...thankfully this does not and remains true to what one would like to get when he opens a bottle of chablis. Citrus, salty and a good spine with a nice medium long finale. Delicious

My first taste of Dauvissat's 2018... and my first AC from him. Opened a few hours before tasting. Pours a pale gold. Good ripeness to the fruit; yellow apple and lime, and the classic salt. Solid minerality, but a tad less acidic than what I remember from the rest of the lineup. It also feels like this lacks some of the structure I've come to expect... it's seems like this might be on the flabbier side of Chablis. Finishes quickly. Delicious bottle but hoping it packs on some depth in the coming years.

Wow - gorgeous young Chablis - firing on all cylinders already. Deep musky nose of lemon chiffon, key lime, seawater, crushed stones, crystallized ginger and lanolin. Softer on the palate for so young but in a good way - still has great zingy balance with citrus and riper white fruit and floral elements. Nice!
