The wine is better on day 2, so it needs aeration. Tropical fruits, melon, yellow apples, nice acidity and salinity. Very concentrated but slightly oxidised. High quality Garganega.

My third one since release and in this particular vintage this seems to be at an ideal maturity in this moment. I know these can age, and how beautiful they can become, but I'm not seeing the material for an extended cellaring. Now or in the next several years for my preference. recommended
Golden yellow, poured at 10-11 deg. Celsius.a bit too cold for this one. It took some time in the glass to open, but that gave me time to prep my shrimp sandwich, and I'm slow at that (my yearly attempt to aquire the taste ). Yellow apple , citrus, slight honey , oak. The palate is deliciously balanced, med+ acid, tart, honey, almond and ripe fruit. It almost gave me a fizzy champagne-like mouthfeel! A good helper on my quest to aquire the taste for shellfish, but also delicious on its own or with snacks!

PnP that's totally in the zone just now. Slightly more honeyed nose than my preferred vintages of this wine, but given the dinner with friends, this was emptied even faster than one I'd have shepherded had I had it just on my own. So that's a win. My guests thought so, anyway. This shows the place/complexity and depth that this bottling has become known for; that said, no need to wait (and I know many can go the distance), it's already a winner. For the $34 I paid, and for the pleasure it brought my guests, it's highly recommended. Now, and the next 5-6 years.
I know from experience how well this can age but it is already beautiful, so don't delay too long! Rich honey balanced with pear and lime, some flowery notes, all wrapped up with a saline mineral backbone. A great package on its own or with food.

This is sublime. Extreme complexity. Good acidity and balance. Fresh. All sorts of fruit, coconut, herbs, orchard fruit. One to savour - perhaps as an aperitif. Doesn't need food.

The Italian pick-up (Terra Rossa, Islington): Excellent, very inviting and eminently quaffable - white wine of the evening by some distance. The kind of wine that would disappear before food even arrived on the table, which is basically exactly what happened. Did not require much contemplation, just highly enjoyable.

Pale gold Medium (+) nose of peach, mint, lemon, stewed apple, white flowers, hay Dry, medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium + body, medium (+) intensity and medium (+) finish
Watery - out of balance Good - more complexity and more fruit focus needed for a higher quality example
Suitable for ageing in the short term. Takes about 5 years for a Soave Classico to come into its own.
Guesses: I thought this might be a Pinot Grigio. Straightforward, simple. Seemed like an Italian white which are often pretty nondescript for me (I drink very few)
Mistakes: Missed the almond, melon , fresh herb and saline which is found in garganega
Bien.
100% Garganega from La Rocca vineyard on the slopes of Monte Rocchetta in the Soave Classico zone with chalky/clay soils at 200-300 m facing south west. Vines 10-50 yrs old planted 5,000/ha certified organic yielding 60 hl/ha. Manual harvest, typically in 2 passes. De-stemmed and crushed. Short maceration with skins in 2,500 l barrels. Aged 15 months on lees in 500-2,000 l barrels. 13% Abv. Ownership: The Pieropan family: Leonildo (d. 2018) and spouse Teresita; sons Andrea and Dario.
A(ccuray)=2: Bright lemon/gold. Fragrant, floral varietal. B(alance)=3: Distinctive components in harmony. C(omplexity)=2: White tree fruits, nuts, spices. D(epth)=1: Supple mouthfeel. Good length and finish.

The most full bodied Garganega ( Soave) I have sampled to date. On both nose and palate: bitter almonds, tart apples, and nougat......a narrow flavour palate currently , but present and intense ....with sleek acidity and subtle notes of oak gall to keep it fresh....bottle age may expand this serious wine...there is a lot of heft to this....NOT a shellfish wine....more suited to herbed Chicken or marinated Pork tenderloin.....
Opened right before dinner (ricotta gnocchi with fresh morels and peas). This is a really impressive wine. Lots of white fruits and well balanced. This should age well. Hold.
Deep yellow color. Rich, nutty and perfumed aromas, with evident ripe citrus. Rich, ripe and tasty in the mouth. Good with rich fish dishes and salads, I guess.

Light gold color. Nose of pineapple and apricot. Dry, full acidity, palate follows through. Medium body. Good balance. Mellow medium finish. Deeper flavor profile than the Soave Classico, but you have to like the flavor to begin with.
Followed over ten days, kept freshness and got increasingly interesting with plenty of minerlas and citrus going on, honey notes in the background. A layered wine, pushing above it's weight (in terms of appellation) will live longer thank you think, the acidity is bright.
Haven’t had this wine in awhile and found it very engaging. Structurally it drank like a really good Chardonnay. Almost distractingly golden yellow in the glass. Interesting kaleidoscope of fruit upfront a little more exotic than a Chardonnay perhaps some pineapple, lychee and apricot and agree with other comment of maybe fennel. More subdued acidity wise. Lovely taut-ish somewhat mineral like finish. Classy

Académie des Cinquante Italy Tasting (Restaurant de Watergeus, Noorden, NL): Tasted blind. Magnum. Noticeable oak, savoury, ripe fruit, honey, pineapple, bright acidity, hint of green strawberry, tight and relatively dry finish. Does not feel perfectly balanced.
