Of course, this is great for the price. I do struggle to write notes, however, there is not that much going on. White flowers, jasmine on the nose with a little hint of sweetness. Maybe honeysuckle? On the palate, it’s effervescent, with acidic lightness and a touch of sugar. Some lemon and river rocks.
7/18, but forget the rating, the wine does not have any competition at this price point.

Pale straw in the glass with effervescence that fades within a minute. Smells of pear and yellow apple. On the palate the wine is light and tastes of grapefruit with high acidity that is crisp and refreshing.

Not worth it even at its low price point. Nothing to it. Basically just this side of flavored water, although could be good for a hot summer day with the BBQ. That might be what I would recommend it for.

A good entry into Vinho Verde at a rock bottom price point. It presents as slightly off-dry wirh lemon & lime flavors throughout and a hint of some background floral characteristics as well. There isn't much complexity here, but it proved to be an excellent pairing with an outdoor street concert! ($5) [7/16/22]

Nose: google search shows that this is 9% ABV. Oddly enough, while the Lamarca Prosecco was at 11%, this Vinho Verde had a stronger alcohol smell to it. to the point that i felt like this was all i could smell. (I am probably exaggerating this.) However, as it sat in the glass, the smell of green apples were getting stronger. and something else that makes me think of citrus. However, the strongest scent was something that just makes me think of sugar. like something candied. As the drink warms up closer to room temp sitting in the glass, I feel like i detect something like grapes??
Palate: Very acidic. and Sweet. the acidity/sweetness is very prominent. unfortunately i dont think i taste anything else. MAYBE a hint of green apples?
Finish: short to medium length. strong on the sweetness of the drink.
Dry Down: on the dry down, the sweetness smell is even more prominent. it makes me think of synthetic sugars, or something that i would find in candy?? idk how to quite describe it.
Rating: i would give this several notches below the Lamarca Prosecco. I didnt like how sweet it was. and for the acidity, i could do with a couple notch down. Maybe wouldnt mind the acidity so much if it had a better balance in the drink. I definitely dont think I will be buying another one of this.

Portuguese version of a Spanish Txakali in a nutshell. Very light effervescence. Very light colored. Peach and yellow ripe pear flavor with medium plus acid. light on the palate but a long finish. Refreshing and a good summer quaffer. Ridiculous price at under $5 Good on it's on and probably terrific as a base wine for sangria.

Pale, slight fizz, light body, light aromas: citus (lime) and green apple. Nice, palate cleansing acidity. It's a very simple, off-dry, easy drinking wine. Short finish and low alcohol. At $5 it's a bargain that you can drink with food as you would a beer.

We've gone through several bottles of this over time, and it's been a great inexpensive white for <$5. The bottle we opened tonight was very different in character than other recent bottles; I bet it's from a new batch/vintage/bottling in the last couple of months. This one was spritzy, more acidic (grapefruit-y), and had a strong sauvignon blanc-type grassy edge to it. Not bad, really, but if this is the new norm, we might buy it a bit less frequently.

Two small pours consumed over ~1 hour, warming from fridge temp to room temp. Slightly effervescent at pour, showing lemon/lime notes and maybe a hint of melon or peach. Refreshing acidity. Yes, it's fairly short and simple, but for $4.49 at TJ's, if the current release consistently shows like this, I can see us picking up more throughout the summer.

pop and poured and had as a late night drink. Wine kinda did what it set out to do, be a crisp cheap refreshing white. As it first goes down, its pretty good, and you think its a steal, then it literally disappears mid palate and never comes back no middle and no finish. To be honest, prob not bad to drink in the summer laying around the pool. You gets whats yous pays for...at under $4.50 at TJs...

The back label still says medium dry, but unlike when I last had this two years ago, this bottle was dry. What's the same is the frizzante action and bright acidity, which is perhaps a touch raw. Green apple, lime, and suggestions of peach skin and minerals. Still an exceptional value.

For the price, this was a great value. Light, slightly effervescent, with some grassy notes. I will say that it could have used just a touch more body - it seemed a bit thin, a little watered-down. That said, it was still a great starting drink and a great way to celebrate the start of summer on a long Friday summer solstice evening.

My new favorite everyday white. Light, fresh, crisp, tart, and mildly effervescent. Initial aromas of bread dough yielded quickly to invigorating aromas and flavors of green apple, lemon-lime, and kiwi. 9% alcohol. $3.99 at Trader Joe's. Twice the price of Charles Shaw, but more than twice as tasty -- and it's got some fizz!
Edit: Upon seeing that no one else gave this wine such a high rating, I feel compelled to add that within the last year, I have tasted $100 white wines from Didier Dagueneau (sauvignon blanc), M. Chapoutier (white Rhone), Louis Latour (white Burgundy) and others, and I absolutely stand by this rating.

Platinum with slight yellow hues in the glass. Generous nose of green apple, lemon, and honey suckle. Not surprisingly this was very crisp on the palate with a jolly rancher green apple flavor, lemon/lime coming into play on the back of the palate. The finish showed nice length, but without strong flavors. Mainly lemon/lime, non descript citrus, and slightly bitter. I thought this wine became more perfumed as it opened up. Think gardenia/freesia. Not cloying at all, and it added to the flavor of the wine. Solid offering, and I was very pleased with it for $4.99.

Slightest hint of color. Exhibits a bit of effervescence. Surprisingly aromatic with lemon and pineapple on the nose… maybe a hint of coconut. Acidic palate that exhibits green apple and citrus. A refreshing summer sipper. At $3.99 from Trader Joe’s, I will buy more.

Effervescent, with bracing citrus acidity and a slight touch of sweetness. An excellent value (this stuff is dirt cheap). Great for relaxed summer drinking.

Not very complex, but a very tasty wine nonetheless. Lots of grapefruit and other citrus pleasantly checked with a slight sweetness. Delicious with panko-crusted orange roughy.

For $4 or $5 this ws a super little bottle of wine. Tight steely grapefruit flavors. CLean nose and finish. A seafood wine! Nice value from Trader Joes.

Light to medium bodied, lightly sparkling, bone-dry. Grapefruit aromas and flavors along with lime; medium-length lime finish. Take a very simple, dry champagne, lose a bit of the fizz, add a healthy squeeze of lime, and you have this wine.
