Red cherry fruit on the nose. Full bodied palate that oozes concentrated fruit and juicy acidity. Soft but persistent tannins on the finish. Big rounded wine that will take some time

If you are seeking a masterclass in minerality, taste this wine! The nose screams crushed rocks, stones and oceanic influences before moving to its flowers, licorice, black cherries, plums, and espresso nose. Concentrated, full-bodied and intense, with layers of mineral-infused black and red fruits, the wine builds, lingers and expands, finishing with vibrancy, refinement, and elegant, sweet, ripe, luscious red fruits with a touch of salt in the tannins. Drink from 2026-2055.

Tasted next to 2011. Lovely, perfumed nose - lots of red and dark fruit, spices, crushed stones, herbs, liquorice, dark chocolate. A little less expressive on the palate. Nicely balanced with good acidity, generous fruit, ripe tannins. The minerality is quite impressive indeed. Very persistent finish. 95-96+

Another slightly-curious showing from the 2020 Larcis Ducasse. The earthy, chocolaty, gravelly nose transitions to a nutty, gamey, malty palate without the direct, fresh, fruit presence of most of the other 2020s on show. Hm.
Tasted at the UGC at the Drake Hotel in Chicago. Fairly well concentrated but rather nondescript, unbalanced, and clearly laboring under the 14.5% ABV. This might come good in the end, I suppose, but I couldn’t possibly buy this at this stage hoping it would become something great. It would be a little like buying a smaller size pair of trousers intending to lose weight to fit them. We know how that goes. Admittedly, high-alcohol wines like this are not my thing, so certainly take that into account. Good; average; simple/**

November 2022 in Zürich) www.vvwine.ch

Arvi Bordeaux 2020 Arrivage (Dolder Grand, Zurich): Bordeaux 2020 Arrivage tasting. Key observations: 1/ Tannins were generally soft and well-integrated, but still left room for structure, 2/ fruit generally ripe and well-defined, no over-extraction, 3/ all appellation were showing great, but if I had to pick out then it would be Paulliac, 4/ top wines were Petit Village (completely unexpected, 97) and Lynch Bages (96).
Tasting note: Red and blue berries, mixed forest berries, defining graphite notes and peppery spice. Well-structured and round palate in perfect harmony.

Rohes Fassmuster. Grandios! 96-98

2028-2043+ (April/Mai 2021) vvWine.ch

Pungent aromas of flowers, licorice, crushed rocks, oak, dark cocoa, black, red and blue fruits focus your attention. The wine offers a mineral-driven, full-bodied blast of silky, flamboyant, luscious red fruits with salty tannins. The fruit coats your palate, lingers and seamlessly expands, finishing with licorice, sensuously textured red and black fruits, espresso and oyster shell. This is on the way to developing into one of the best vintages ever produced by Larcis Ducasse. 98-100
2020 First Look: Chambord-like, with a big and rich nose. Somehow it seems to work on some level, though it's more port than wine with a bracing, warm palate. Hm 84-89

Near opaque. Good nose – very ripe blue and black fruits, deep, with some richness and fine vapour – but in check. Very silky and plush with excellent fruit weight, this is ripe and rich with some stimulating acidity, lots of spice and great structure. Plenty of oomph!

The 2020 vintage UGCB tasting in Amsterdam 03/06/2023 (Amsterdam): Friendly, juicy, smooth fruit and spices, at the moment a bit less convincing in the midtaste; there are good tannins in the aftertaste.

Brightly aromatic
Smooth mouthfeel, raspberries and some blackberry notes, gentle grippiness
Savory finish
