Tasted as part of Mary Margaret McCamic MW Chasing Burgundy online class. Lovely wine, way too early to drink. Medium plus acid, medium plus body, tons of floral/honeysuckle, flint, minerality and soft citrus/green apple aromas. Definite lees-aromas on the nose. Concentrated citrus and green apple flavors, tons of minerality and a great textured/chalky mouth-filling palate. This wine definitely needs time - but it was very good now.

Grandes Maisons Grands Crus - Grands Jours de Bourgogne 2024 (Santenay): 30% oak. Similar to the Preuses very light and fruity. Not really interesting. In general the Chablis were far away from the Corton Charlemagne wines tonight, not just in mid mouth presence but also in attractive aromatics.

greenish pale straw and mildly viscous. whiffs of orange blossom, fennel and damp rock waft thru the fresh pear and white peach fruit aromas. crisp yet silky in the mouth, the orchard fruit unfolds readily then somewhat retreats in the mid palate, giving space to herbal accents and a spice vein to stand out against the high-toned acidity. fairly good length.
with future depth and richness already apparent, this seems to be already coming together… and should be really singing in a year or two. upside potential here.
13% AbV; 14-15 months' ageing, of which, for 50-60% of the wine 5-6 months were on fine lees in French oak barrels averaging 6 seasons of use.

Excellent, kept improving with air. Terrific minerality and promising complexity given the young age. The score/experience is likely to increase over the next few years.

Blind tasting! Chardonnay of the world. 4 Chards from 4 different countries. Argentina, USA, France and New Zealand. All tasted blind. The order that they were drank in was: Argentina White Bones, USA Montelena, France William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros and New Zealand Kumeu River Maté's Vineyard.
Here are the notes for the Bougros: Floral and lemon zest on the nose. Palate was about the same with a focus on the citrus side. A bit of sea spray as well. It's a very high quality wine and very classic Chardonnay style. Easy to guess that it was the French wine. But #2 and #4 outclassed this wine tonight.
Winner was #4 then #2 and finally a tie between 1 and 3.

tasted at the domaine; this cuvee comes from the flatter part of the slope with deeper clay than the Cote de Bougerots; ripe orchard fruits with a sense of sucrosite; a bit of baked lemon with air; again very good depth and is very easy to appreciate and enjoy right now; should develop well with time

Waterford Wine Co. Burgundy Festival (Waterford Wine Co. - Milwaukee WI): Walkaround tasting. Steely and bright with orchard fruit, showing very good concentration even if slightly austere. Classic, oystershelly textures expand from middle forward to its long finish. Better from 2025-2035.
