Sunday in the Sunroom--all blind (Chez S1): Flat with heavy handed malo. Very little acidity/very little Chablis minerality and fruit. I think this one is starting the slide to severe oxidation. Half the bottle remaining at the end of the tasting--enough said.

Steely, lemony nose along smoky and light nutty notes. Soft, round, rich texture. Med to full body for Chablis, this is showing the warmth and richness of the whites for this vintage. The wood is a touch too noticeable right now even if this is pretty well made. Will improve over 2-3 years.

No detailed notes. A good wine for what it is - approachable in its youth, forward fruit without a bunch of acidity/minerality. An easy drinker and quite pleasurable.

First Chablis in a lot of years and I wonder why I stopped buying them. Beautiful color. A little closed upon opening, but 30 minutes later, it started to come to life. Lots of fruit - apples and pears, with a nice flowery nose and good acidity.

Churchill's: Burgundy vs Bordeaux (Maumee, OH): Closed nose, slightly corn-y. This is super shut down right now. Oddly light acidity, which makes me question how well this would age. Minerals, but little fruit. Pleasant but boring. $41

Nose showing soft orchard fruits, white flowers, and just a hint of lemon infused oil. The flavor follows the nose, but everything has been turned up a notch or two. Ripe, round apples and pears, lemon zest, and just a hint of spice in the background. Smooth oily texture with a nice zip of acidity throughout. This wine took about an hour or so to really start to shine, and it really showed well once it did. Excellent with the Cuban styled pork chops that we had with dinner.

Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.
See previous TN, which was just a month ago.

Excellent in all respects. Just enough richness, fruit, acidity. Wish I had 10 more.

Not quite the magical 90, but still quite good. This bottle was not at all flat or close to being oxidized. Crisp, delineated, textbook Chablis.

Not much acidity left and therefore a bit flat.

Pretty nose with lemon and some light toast. Clean and refreshing on the palate that finishes with a steely/mineral edge. Nice.

Same notes as the first time I opened a bottle, but enjoyed it even more with bacon-wrapped scallops grilled on the bbq.

Rich Chablis with some tropical notes of pineapple, lemons but retaining chalky minerality with firm acidity.

Less crisp and and more buttery than most Chablis, perhaps a touch more oak than usual for this region.
