Moderate plus color depth, with purplish to ruby core and high viscosity.
High aroma intensity, with red raspberry (both fresh and jammed), green bell pepper, and oak/spice present. Red fruits were dominant on nose.
Dry wine with a little bit of residual sugar, heavy bodied and high alcohol. Acid felt moderate and the alcohol did feel a little on the high side for me. Tannins moderate+ and dry. Flavors of raspberry, stewed cherries, plum, chocolate sauce, and fire-roasted vegetables. Oak much stronger on the palate.
Although not a style I typically seek out, an enjoyable wine that would do well to pair with food (rich meat) to let the body and alcohol loose.

Aromas of blackberry, wild cherry, currant and touch of earth. Flavors of blackberry, wild cherry, currant and green pepper. Ends with a 15+ second finish with blackberry and green pepper notes.

Wine is actually ok to drink. My issue !!!! Headache the next morn. Wine has too many additives to it. Not a wine that my body accepts. For some reason it hits me in my head an lingers for hours. Not buying anymore. Will try not to drink unless it’s the only thing around. Btw. My score reflects the after effects. Not the actual wine itself 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Full throttle Paso Cab. Cassis, currant. Black fruits for days. Massive, unctuous mouthfeel. Brooding aromatics. $20 at Costco is a steal. Generally not a fan of Paso cabs but Justin does it right. I'll buy more of this.

I was very impressed with this wine tonight. We ordered it at a very nice restaurant in northern Michigan. The wine was medium full bodied had a nice delivery and smoothness with very nice fruit. For only $52 a bottle on a wine list at a fancy restaurant in Harbor Springs I thought it was outstanding really.

This wine is hitting everything right. Cassis and plum, ripe and jammy. Either too much or too little tannin, take your pick! Superb entry level Paso Cab for sure.

Vibrant purple color. The nose shows suave plums and currants, laced with smoky earth and coffee, notes of pepper, roasted red pepper, some roasted chestnut, hints of dark chocolate. Juicy and ripe on the palate with sweet tannins, a pleasantly chewy feel, with moderated acidity. Flavors of juicy plums, raspberry jam, with currant jam, and the fruit is mixed with tones of anise, tobacco, sage, along with coffee, mocha, and anise cookie. Fun and ripe but nuanced and balanced, too. Great grill-out, crowd-pleasing Cab at a reasonable price. Aged 14 months in 25% new American oak.

This is much better than the 2019 vintage I had late last year. Shows nice structure, decent depth, and lots of sweet, plump, New World, Paso fruit atop a shapely texture. It's much more balanced than I expected. Very good.

Deep and rich. For $30 California Cab, this is great. Definitely more on the jammy side but it almost had a roasted pepper or dried fruit…if it was a blind test I might have guessed there was some Malbec mixed in.
Totally drinkable and I think the prior scores were either influenced by a corked bottle or just very fine palates.
I came back a day later and it was softer and lovely so I might recommend decanting rather than out of the bottle.

I'm chuckling at the dichotomy between the two prior reviews! More proof that we all taste different (and have different tastes). I guess I'm baby bear here, as I have no complaints at all about the tannins. If anything throws it out of balance for me, it's the ripeness of the fruit - this one's an eleven on the Jammy scale.

It’s a good wine, not great not awful, just good. Honestly the best comparison is Josh and for $8-$10 less I’d rather the Josh.
