An elegant style of Cab grown in the foothills of the Andes, this wine is a Bordeaux blend of 85% Cab and also Cab Franc and Petit Verdot aged in 100% new French oak. The wine is ruby red nearly to the rim and with fewer tertiary notes than I expected, it has several more years ahead of it and is drinking beautifully now. On the highly aromatic nose, Cab scents of cassis, blueberry, black pepper and green olive (fortunately, no sign of green pepper), balsamic and a nicely integrated toastiness. The gentle but full mouthfeel offers a palate of blue fruits balanced with grip but also smooth tannins. Again, no tertiary flavors and a surprisingly short finish. The elegance at 14.5 ABV stands out for me.

Still vibrant and quite fruit-forward after about 23 years in the bottle. Moved it from Germany (purchased in 2009) to Oklahoma successfully. Stored properly all its life with me (in wine fridges). An excellent Cabernet Sauvignon, indeed. Dark fruit, of course. Tannins well integrated. 'Smooth as velvet', if you will.

Obviously I must have been drunk last time I had this wine? Terrible. As they always make them in 3:d world. I had a plan that I would cellar a bottle of hyped up stuff and see how it would develop. I did not. Not in a good way anyway. Would not even use for a red wine sauce. Pour out in the sink. Note to myself: Never - ever by any "wines" from outside of the real (old) world. It never delivers, no matter any critics or they so called quality of the wine and winemaker. Dung is always dung, no matter the sticker you put on it.

Nearly four years on from our previous bottle. This is superb wine. A fine, forward nose and minimal signs of ageing in the colour. All my previous comments still apply from the attractiveness on first opening to the fruit, balance, complexity and tremendous length on the palate after a couple of hours to open. Still youthful and 'juicy' with almost sweet fruit. This is a wine that is not cheap when released but is out of reach for my resources (and not readily available) when it approaches its peak. I'm glad that I cellared this - I'm currently buying more recent vintages with the expectation that they will give similar pleasure after cellaring for a decade or more. After that time they will seem relative bargains. 93+

Very good. Drank over 2 hours. Age only slightly visible on the edge. Purple/black color. Lots of dark/black fruit, spice, vanilla on the nose. Palate was very good, lots of fruit all through the 2 hours of drinking. Blackberries, vanilla, purple. Medium to long finish.

Tasted after 2007. Very different on the nose with notes of band-aid, dried fruit, spices, a little pruney. Not obviously faulty, but lacking depth and intensity, not much acidity, a little drying and unbalanced. Not sure if that was a representative bottle. 86-88?

Its 20 years since I last tasted an Errazuriz wine and it was part sentimentality that led me to buy this from the discunt rack of a local liquor store.
Dirty brown color, visible legs, strong blackcurrant nose. Lots of black fruit, mint, and kind of dusty coffee taste. I really enjoyed this wine with macaroni chesse, but it cried out for a steak. If you have nay of this vintage in your cellar, then drink them - I cant see them getting better.
This is much better than all of the Chilean wines that I have tasted to date. Is it value for money? It's fair.

Surprise I must admit, and finally a decent bottle of Chile red Bdx. Wanna be… Gave this a good six hours decant, and I believe that was a good thing. Nose with loads of generous fruit, cassis, black currant and dark berries, some vanilla and oak spices, touch of leather and sweet tobacco leafs, with oak showing, without being too much. Palate shows quite balanced smooth and silky fruit, touch of wood but not intrusive, black currants and blackberries, tobacco leafs and touch of herbs, generous and fruit driven, quite low acidity, but still not jammy or extracted. Rather mature, but I will keep my last bottle for a few years and see what happens. (88 – 90)

Immediately after opening and decanting - gorgeous nose with sweet, mouth filling, tarry fruit. Very approachable from the start - no restraint here. Two hours later, sweet spice and black fruits on the nose. Palate full of sweet cherries and dark berries. Delicate spice. Complex, smooth, and long. No obvious oak now but delicate vanilla core and with superbly integrated tannins. Very classy wine. A truly excellent bottle. It accompanied roast sirloin with aplomb.

- Purple color with medium forming legs and aromas of tobacco, blackberry and vanilla. It's balanced and has flavours of tobacco, blackberry, chocolate, vanilla and coffee with a medium/full body with a long finish - Decanted for 45 minutes. The wine opened further in the glass. Fantastic wine yet sure 3 year may be. Totally worth the 50.

Ripe fruit (too much) and heavy full bodied with too much sweetness on day 1, didn't think too much of it. Day 2 a different wine emerges, still aromas of ripe fruit with cassis as expected. It's still rather heavy day 2 but more refined and balanced and that overwhelming sweetness has stepped back. Soft tannins and lots of fruit still with some tobacco notes. This wine drinks well now but lacks the secondary more complex notes still. Save for another couple of years and follow.

We decanted the wine for 45 minutes before we poured the first glass. It kept improving with air and drank much better after 1.5+ hours in the decanter. The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered a boatload of leafy black currant on the nose, complemented by blackberry, tobacco, some chocolate and some vanilla aromas. On the palate the round, medium-bodied wine showed intense leafy black currant flavours, some blackberry, tobacco, spices, chocolate and some vanilla, paired with medium-plus acidity, medium-level tannin and a good, creamy mouthfeel. It drank well after a solid decant, but seemed a little boring and overpriced to me.

Delicous balanced wine on the nose a lot of currants dominate. This was entirely smooth and approachable a delicious bottle that is drinking extremely well even without decanting. Decanter Fine Wine Encounter; 11/13/2010-11/14/2010 (Landmark Hotel, London): (Decanter Fine Wine Encounter) This is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Syrah, 5% Petit Verdot, 18 months in 94% new oak. Deep purple color, intense nose, ripe fruits and spices, leather and chocolate. In the palate you can feel the strength of this wine, full and round, ripe fruits, firm tannins. This wine is very round and smooth even though it has good structure.
Lovely cassis on the nose accompanied with typical cabernet sauvignon touch. There is also lots of oak in the nose. The palate is long and even though the alcohol content is high, 14,5 %, it still feels fresh, cool and elegant. Lovely and outstanding!

Good, round and classic new world fruity taste. Have tried decanting and without decanting. Opened up after some time in the glass/decanter. An excellent wine for a piece of red meat!

Dark color. Typical chilean nose. Reminds me of green pepper, mint and burnt rubber. Round and soft. Some people might like it. It is well made, but I find it very hard to drink and to pair with food.

Tasted at LIWF 2009
Dense in appearance; Brooding nose of concentrated cassis and tapenade; Explosive fruit on the palate. French oak hints on the edge. Needs a fair bit of age. Very, very good indeed.

Very rich in aroma's and tastes. Already very drinkable, not improving noticeably after decanting.

extremly tight when opened.. purple in color
after 1.5 hours decant, it opened up beautifully
nose of dark berries, chocolate, and anise. smooth on the palate although still a bit tannic.
obviously too young but the restaurant had this vintage only.
had with a astrada de tira (short ribs) at cuerovaca restaurant in santiago, chile

Not much depth and a bit too sweet but hey it is better than box wine.
