absolutely love it...everything a chardonnay should be (which is why I just bought another case of these). delicate flavour with sparkling elderflower, honey texture all without too much sugar.

Great example of a French Chardonnay. Has some butter notes, but has the acidity and mineral to balance it all. Notes of butter, melon, and vanilla. Nice crisp lingering finish.

Light yellow color. Aromas of pears, beeswax and minerals. Ripe, focused fruit in the mouth with with excellent structure, depth and length. This wine was delicious with food but is still in its infancy and lacked the sauveness, complexity and oily quality of a great white from the Cote D'or at this time. Perhaps in 1 or 2 more years it will warrant a higher score.

Colour is deep lemon or light gold. Nose is fully developed with medium intensity and has aromas I associate more with white Rhone than Burgundy: quince and orange peel, apple and notes of oxidative winemaking and spices like anise. Also floral, sweet lemon and honey notes on the background. Although alcohol is only 13 the nose has a slight spirity feel. Oak is perfectly integrated and I find no mineral aromas here. Palate is full and flavourful with tangerine, quince and apple notes and lovely oily texture. Acidity is med+ and balances fine and finish is long. I believe the wine is at optimum stage of development now. First time I drink a wine from Chateau de Fuisse and I am impressed! However, had I tasted this wine blind I would bet it was a Hermitage or like and in no way would I go to Chardonnay...

Consistent notes. We all found the wine to be fairly well balanced and fresh, but it lacked the level of minerality and acidity that would have given it more punch. Drink thru 2013.

PnP followed over 3 days, days 1 & 2 showing the brightest. Deep straw toward golden colour, much darker than I'd anticipated. Notwithstanding its darker hue, the wine was by no means over the hill. In fact, it's drinking on point right now. A rich nose of pear, apricot, hay, apples and a bit of toast along the edge. A lemon and seashell tones lurks in background. This leads to a medium (+) palate with creamy, fleshy fruits, marmalade, crunchy minerals. Tart when it needs to be, crisp at all times and loaded with mouthwatering acidity. This was simply delicious and paired with a wide array of dishes (the artichoke heart and fennel bulb risotto may have been the best). 13,5% abv, drink thru 2013, recommended.

A: Mid gold N: Astringency burning my nose. Not a lot more on the nose P: Asparagus, green beans, sweetened butter and minerality. Just waves of canned vegetables left in the mouth.Acidity is low and the body quite high. The alcohol (13.5%) feels hot. Tastes like elderly baked turnip fried on slate.
C: alcohol out of balance as is acidity , the intensity is not high but thank goodness, length is short and it is simple/neutral (i.e.. primaries from the same cluster). 2006 was a bumper year in burgundy in Meursault which is the cote de Beaune but Puilly Fuisse seeks to emulate. However, this is hot and unbalanced. Just tastes fried. God knows what the 2004 is going to taste like. I wish i had paint that needed stripping. Cote de Beaune or even the cote de chalonnaise may sleep deeply. This poses no threat.
This producer was a headliner in the region in the 1980s but cannot believe this is what they sell to patrons stopping at their winery. Hopeless! Awful QPR at $40 a bottle
