Walk around tasting, so just short notes.: Not very expressive bouquet with some mineral impressions. On the palate a firm mousse, some brioche, light citrus and some minerals. Ok bubble.
Stylistically this appealed to my senses. The nose is filled with stone fruit, red apple, and citrus pith aromas over tinges of yeast and sea shells. In the mouth, it's ripe yet racy, lemony and stony, silky and pliant, with a vibrant bead, and strident lime and raspberry flavors that are energized by crisp and juicy acidity. Finishes with length and resonance. So expressive, intense, and delicious from start to finish. Simply put, this is hedonistic.

Champagne & Sushi (Masu, Mpls, MN): Light gold color with just a hint of pink. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. This was very nice, fresh, apple, pear on the nose. The palate was crisp and light with yeast, mineral, tart apple, tart pear, nice mousse and there seems like maybe a hint of red fruit on the background, but it is as subtle as the suggestion of red in the color..

Took my last bottle to an offline at the Peking Duck House in New York. I purchased this bottle 2 years ago. This was starting to show a little age and exhibited some nice secondary nuances without a sherry profile. Straw yellow color. A little fatter on the palate (especially as it warmed a little). Notes of peaches, apples and a nuttiness on the finish. 90 points.

Marquis Philips Integrity vertical (Sarah & Randy's): Deep straw yellow color. Nice bouquet featuring baked peach, crystallized ginger, pear and almond. Deep and complex on the palate with honeycomb, apple, stone, almonds, ginger and nutmeg. Long finish. Best example of this we've had, sadly our last bottle.

This house was founded around 1927 when the Aube was incorporated into the Champagne region. In 1996, Thierry Fluteau took over this family run winery with his wife Jennifer, a Chicago native. In 2001, the estate converted to “owner grower” status, producing their champagnes exclusively from grapes grown on their own 9 hectares of vines. Fluteau wines are only imported into Chicago and they did not have East of West coast distributors the last I knew. 100% Pinot Noir from the 2006 and 2007 vintages. Bottled in April 2008. Got this on sale for $15. Opened my first bottle at the beach with friends. Very crisp and clean. Raspberry and lime notes. 91-92 points.

A Night Out (E & S Fish Company, St. Charles): Limestone, chalk, white flowers and citrus aromas. Medium bead, with flavored of minerals, chalk and citrus. A little thin through the midpalate and finish. Dry, almost to the point of being austere.

The bottle is reasonable classy and there was an attractive blue design on the cap. The pour was satisfying - very attractive colour and great effervesence. The nose was less inspiring and whilst extremely drinkable there was not one really dominant flavour - at best could be described as crisp but none of the aromas other pop pickers have mentioned. BUT in it's credit a wonderful champagne to pair with food - salmon perhaps any other seafood is an ideal combination. Enjoyable for sure but outside of a food combination for a proper celebration pop I would look elsewhere.

nose: delicious and interesting nose of red apples, berries, biscuits, baking spices, white floral tones and a bit of citrus tones. Nice medium depth with good balance as well
taste: smooth and elegant medium feel with medium acidity along with tones of red apples, baking spices, white florals, citrus tones and some biscuits. The mid-palate is a bit hollow and there isn't a ton of depth either
overall: the nose nearly makes the champagne itself. Very interesting and fresh on both the nose and palate, but is just lacking in the depth department

The Blind Drunks monthly tasting (Our house): Pale straw color, with a fine mousse and a persistent bead. Notes of lemon peel, flowers, stone and blanched almonds. Fine- to medium-textured bead, with citrus (lemon) and apple tones on the palate.

Very nice BdN. Good Pinot body, full but not overly rich. Black cherry. Not super complex, but quite enjoyable. Will buy again.

Chablis dinner with xhoser (Mykha's, Glen Ellyn): Melon, apple and citrus notes. Apple tones dominate the palate, would like a little more acidity; feels a bit flabby.

Ultra fizzy - the foam sprayed out even though the bottle hadn't been moved for a couple of months - light, fresh, but lacking substance
