2022 Excellent Burgundy Adventure; 10/31/2022-11/6/2022 (Burgundy): Initially thought slightly corked. Coiled nose displaying subdue white fruit, apple, pear, spicy spices and crushed rocks. Very good concentration, coiled white fruit, excellent balance, precision and focus, piercing acidity, strong limestone mineral, and a long coiled white fruit driven finish. This is a very precise mineral driven wine.

Can never go wrong with JJ Prum. Here we have a perfect partner to Singaporean-Malay seafood dishes. The acidity and the sugar comes together to build something that's just straight out tasty and beautifully expressive. Only 7.5% abv, so you need this in much bigger format. Like a faucet or something.
Pale straw color in the glass. Sharp scents of petrichor and petrol upfront with the faintest hint of lemongrass in the background. Soft and medium bodied juice with a great balance of acid which brings about a nice round mouth feel. On the palate, apple skins, mineral and lemon all meld together with incredible balance and a lengthy finish. A fantastic Spätlese from 2008 that is showing very well now and in no danger of slowing down anytime soon. Drink now and hold years yet.
Sweet, ripe stone fruit, loads of floral notes (rose petals?!), some citrus. Beautiful but well-measured sweetness, good acidity and a slightly bitter touch at the end (not unpleasant). Excellent Spätlese and without a doubt with decades of life ahead.

young light yellow color still, at the end of a tasting including 2008 Champagnes and 2017 Rieslings this was a restful and tranquil ending to a roller coaster of an afternoon, pure honeysuckle, peach and light citrus on the nose, on the palate deft, rose petals, lively pear and citrus fruit with classic restraint, very fine length with acids that are noticeable but which have come into proper balance, peaches, soft clay and zesty cream notes in time, this is just starting to unfurl and is a truly beautiful bottle of wine.

A Good Monday (Good Luck Gourmet): Really terrific balance and a complete package for a spatlese at this age. In 10 years would probably trump (ack!) the other wines on the table. Slight petrol on the nose. The balance of acid and sweet white fruit is impeccable. Still tight here in the middle. Long and youthful. Even better in a few...

Glorious, harmonious acidity invigorates flavours of wheat and stones. No petillance, and little overt fruit in this bottle. The lovely acidity is the main theme at present. Too cold when opened, but developed beautifully after an hour at room temperature. First of six, will leave the others for a few more years. [10 09, 7.5%]
Next day: Rather more fruit in evidence, less grain. But no change to the attractive acidity. However, to my surprise, I began to tire of the wine, and did not finish the last glass. At this stage, this wine is not nearly as enjoyable as the much more modest (in price and reputation) 2008 Weiser-Künstler Enkircher Ellergrub Spätlese, opened the following evening.

PNP into Lucaris Burgundy glass (“Fruit” day): Pale golden with some very fine petillance upfront.
Nicely integrated bouquet of citrus and stone fruits like nectarines and white florals. Some fresh cream/yogurt like aromas too. Hedonistic.
High level or acidity and minerality as expected. Less about focus probably due to the vintage but more about the gentle, plush mouthfeel on palate. Nice persistence of flavours consistent with nose on the finish.
Nectar this is indeed. 91 points.

Attractive white fruit. Perfectly pleasant but lacks tension, complexity and length. Better on second day but not measurably. Perhaps it is still closed down but to my taste this is an inferior vintage compared to 2009 and 2012

Quite an enjoyable bottle with lots of mineral, as well as floral fragrant. There is right amount of acid to balance out the sweetness at the end of throat. Just hope the after taste can be slightly longer.

Clear, pale golden yellow in appearance with a bright nose of ripe peaches and pineapples infused with a noticeable amount of petrol and rubber. The palate is slightly on the sweet side, medium-bodied, rich, and elegant yet straightforward with notes of sweet luscious yellow fruits, a little diluted minerals, a trace of petrol and rubber and ends with a refreshing acidic finish. Tasted wonderful upon opening, but drinking much better in the sense that it became more integrated and a little bolder by the third day. An easy drinking Riesling Spätlese with a lot verve and personality.

Pale yellow. Retiring aromas of peach, wildflower on the nose, with a touch of botrytis. Sweet rich fruit on the palate with prickly acids and a long evolving finish. A very pleasant aperitif wine.

Silly good, nose and palate. Lots of petrol that blows off and a bit of spritz on the palate that also dissipates. The nose has honey, apricot, and a hint of lemons. The palate is intense, sweet and very clean with tons of crisp honey. So crystalline and clean that while very young, it's awesome at this stage.

Has a bit of smoky sulphur to begin with but the haze lifts to reveal Riesling of great purity. It has some musk, custard apple and candied lime aromas and flavours. It is piercing with terrific mineral line and great cut. There’s immaculate balance between sugar and acid.

Very nice wine. A bit of spritz but mostly gone at this point. Nice pineapple notes. Slightly flabby for what it is, but that is nit picking. This is outstanding. Easy to drink and while not showing much complexity, it also shows no signs of deterioration. This should make reasonably old bones as well.

This really seems like one to lay down for a couple of decades. Tremendously concentrated and showing nice balance. It's showing good depth now but I get the sense it will be showing tremendous depth in a decade or so. From the attack to the finish it is elegant. I got a little bit of brown sugar on the nose along with maybe a hint of diesel. No sulfur. Tropical fruits on the palate. Excellent finish. This wine shows why Wehlener Sonnenuhr is the class of the Mosel. A Rudi Wiest import.

Stone and pear on the nose. Light on acidity, but good fruit. Medium finish. I had this over two nights and it was better on the second night - more balanced. This could probably do with another year or two of bottle age. It will never be great, because of the light acidity. Lovely wine though.
