Decent red fruit with a little minerally tar, still some slightly prominent tannins which were fine with food. Developed over the course of a few hours, still more to come here but drinking well now

This changed immensely over four hours. At first, it was dull and muted with only some faint dried fruit aromas. About two hours later the licorice and eucalyptus emerged. Four hours in and it’s super complex—cocktail cherry, leather, dried flowers, black licorice, and dried cranberry.
It threw a ton of super fine sediment, but it wasn’t really noticeable on the palate. The tannins are still grippy but not over the top, and the acidity cuts through any fatty meal you throw at it. Time to buy more aged Nebbiolo.

Remarkably fresh at age 14. Bright red cherry with tight tannin and good acidity. Nicely balanced, closing with menthol, cedar and tart cherry. There is a bit of smokiness that appears on the early finish. A lovely touch of tarriness as the finish closes out. Quite enjoyable.

(from memory) Deep garnet, perfumed and intoxicating nose of dark berry, black cherry, earth and candied apple, tart and mature on the palate with layered red and black fruit, spice, truffle and resolved tannins, finish is not particularly long but beautifully harmonious with savory notes, spicy fruit and powdery tannins
Note: still got some gas in the tank but in a really good place right now

Drinking really well at the moment with a short decant. Classic nose of tar, leather, some exotic spices. Red fruit, though clamps down with tannins on the finish. Really enjoyable now if you like early consumption, I'm sure this has many years/decades left though.

This wine tastes and smells like an really good Barolo. It was beautiful with fresh blackened gulf red snapper, steamed artichoke dipped in garlic and butter and steamed broccoli. The snapper MUST be fresh. Drink outside of the box.

Two per day, why not?; 7/29/2013-8/8/2013 (Enoteca Barolo - Madrid): More aristocratic, elegant if compared with last Chiarlo. Half modern style anyway. Unsecured future. Truffle on the nose. Earthy . Quite interesting palate but very thin. I would like more of everything.
Más aristocrático, elegante si lo comparas con el último Chiarlo. De estilo medio moderno de todos modos. De futuro incierto. Trufa en nariz. Terroso. Una boca bastante interesante pero delgada. Me hubiese gustado algo más.

Random Northern Italian tasting (121 BC, Sydney): Colour: Garnet, medium intensity Nose: tar, rose, almost porty fruit – prune and plum, spice, biscuit, blood notes and leather Mouth: Medium plus tannin and acid, meat, savoury plum, dried mushroom…long dry finish…needs time and is glorious.

This is more restrained and subtle, more about finesse than the brunate. I think it is a bit closed right now but should be very enjoyable in a decade.

Really good showing, clean and precise red cherry, flowers, and cedar. Best Marcarini I have had in some time.

Coravin tasting at Bardot (Park Avenue Wines) (Portland, OR): Earth, hazelnuts wrapped in mild cranberries. Minerality. Tannins are still drying and there is a bright acidity. Still needs time, won't be amazing but it's solid.
