Slightly better than a year ago. Showing light woody and red berry notes in the background. Still, shy and succinct after audozing for four hours and two in the glass. I love elegant wines, but let's not confuse elegance with silence. There are many bottles that develop positively with time in the cellar, this is not one of them.

I truly don't understand a rating of 95 points. I'm being generous with 88. This is muted, a bit diluted and frankly very simple. Now, it isn't unpleasant but it's kind of a Tuesday night wine. Finish is brief.
Bought out of curiosity, wish I had not. Just passably OK. At the end of the road, benefited from some air in the decanter. Dry leaves is about all there is on the nose, with a hint of cooked fruit on the palate. This bottle is intact and balanced, softness on the tongue. If I was eating a meal, and someone filled the glass with it, it would get me through, but not recommended.

Blind tasted. Light hue. Nose not expressive, closed or dumb. Mouth green , sappy, vegetal as a blueberry tree. Ending dry and mineral : no flesh , just the dry structure. A day later no fruit appears but softer tannins and sap. The same rate: 84. Don't buy. Not interesting.

Nothing funky here but instead an austere, conservative wine - only to be expected from a good Burgundy I suppose - which in no way means it was lacking in richness. The nose was more mineral than fruity, with a saline, almost blood-like note. Restrained velvety fruit, perhaps even tomato juice, on the palate, going through to a well-composed, long balanced finish in which the tannins open up gently and progressively without any of the sudden kick characteristic of some younger, less refined burgundies. Was good to drink now and perhaps those tannins in the finish might suggest it has some ageing potential in it yet. Drank with food (Boeuf Bourguignon) an hour after opening, perhaps a little more time would have allowed the wine to open up its potential even more...as it was it still showed an undeniable touch of class.

Open 1 hour and just starting to open up. Fragrance of flowers and earth on the nose. Cherry, leather, and mushrooms show up in the palate. Hint of menthol on the finish. Good, solid burgundy at an extremely reasonable (for Burgundy) price.

Very nice. First day a bit closed although nice flavor nevertheless. This bottle really opened up the next day. I drank this because it seemed to have seepage although it did not seem to affect the wine. Color of dark red pinot, nose very nuanced black raspberry, red cherry, some sous-bois, and wet stone. Very nice, subtle but expressive. On taste sweet raspberry and red fruit with a chalky medium finish. Complete, balanced, and delicious. I am not sure why I see other notes complaining about the wine. It was probably closed when they drank it. It needs some time to open up, but when it does it is quite elegant and nuanced. Glad I got a case but sad that I drank most of it early. Looks like it ages well and has lots more to give. I will leave the last two bottles to try some years from now or when I see some notes that it is ready to drink. Amazing QPR.

Not much change from last year. Took a few hours to really get going. Nose is still somewhat reticent. That ultra pure cherry fruit comes through still, nice pommegranate notes, and a little bacon fat. Finish is short to medium, nice and dry. An elegant wine that still has considerable structure but won't turn into anything earth shattering.

I've opened two bottles of this over the last several months, and both showed a massive nose of sulphur upon opening. Decanting helps blow that off, and the light red fruit starts to come forward. At that point it's simple and pleasant but nothing to write home about.

Very light in color, nice nose of sour cherries and violets. Not much on palate. Very tight and sour. Hopefully it is closed. Tried 2nd day, not any better. Added to red wine vinegar crock.

Light to medium ruby color leads to an amazing nose of old fashioned cherry cola. The body moves the cherry forward while adding some mushroom and sage. The finish is smooth but clipped. A very respectable offering for $20.

I would say right now this wine is drinking at 86-88. A pleasant wine with red fruit, some earth, maybe a hint of sulfur and cherry upon opening. 2 hours after decanting and dining most of the fruit was gone on the nose. Fruite stayed on the taste with cherry dominating. A tad of peppery spice on the palate. We shall have to see how this one develops over the years. Right now - an excellent wine that paired well with Herb Marinated Grilled Salmon.

This is a hard wine to figure. Beautiful nose of earth, mushroom and cherry. Believe it or not there is a nose of truffle and duck!!! However, the wine is acidic and a tad lean on the palate. 85-87 points.

Heavenly perfume on the nose. Tart cherri flavors, smooth silky tannins, incredible acidity, but lacked in length. Gaining some earth and mushrooms with some time in the glass but finish remained fairly clean. Wonderful food wine that will drink well for years to come, but don' t expect to be wowed, except for maybe the nose. This wine is all about elegance.

Just after decanting had minimal nose, but after 1 hr. began to open revealing a faint raspberry/strawberry fragrance. 3 hr. after decanting, drank with NY strip steak dinner. Nose had become more muted with raspberry & forest floor; medium body with subtle cassis and dominant menthol / spice layers; balanced acidity, smooth tannic backbone and a medium finish. A decent burg for the money.

First bottle corked. Second bottle: Pale red. Nose is almost non-existent with just a hint of red fruit and earth. Thin and rather watery palate. Nothing wrong with this but nothing right either. Drank this after a great bottle of Jadot 02 Beaune Bucherottes and the Jadot blew this away on every level for just a few pennies more a bottle. Notes to self: 1. This bottle started out with a weak finish but by the time I got the grill warmed up and the swordfish ready, it started to really open up with wonderful cherry aromas and the finish got deeper. Ready to drink now but wil be interesting to hold my last bottle for a few years to see how it evolves.

This was a great, light red wine. A very pleasant aroma of cherries and strawberries, but still a bit closed on the finish. This should improve in the cellar over the next 2-5 yrs.

Very nice nose but still green or vegetal nose. Flavor nice but on the thin side. Good tannins. May need more time. Thing is that for $20 this is twice the wine the pinot noirs from Washington or California are.

Muted nose of dark cherries and dried strawberries. It is overly acidic at this point, which is obscuring the notes of cola, loam and forest floor that glint here and there. Nice attack, medium finish. This bottle will definitely settle down, and improve, over the next three to five years.

Medium cherry with slightly paling rim. Moderately restrained but deep nose of black cherries, earth, cola, with an intriguing background of sweeter framboise. More expressive on the palate, but a serious, stern wine, not a fruit bomb. Black cherries and cola that echo the nose, along with fine herbs (tarragon, sage) and healthy earthiness. Very GC in character. Good acidity adds length to the fruit and finish, with moderate tannins. Definitely a young wine, probably best near the end of this decade.

raspberry/cherry light red color. gobs of fresh red fruit on the nose right off. No need to coax. A bit of glycerin as well. Starts off bright and tart at first taste, but opens up quickly with lots of currant, cherry, and tart apple. This is not a sweet wine, and has strong GC qualities, if less refined. High acidity with a dry finish suggests a year or two would really help bring out the fruit. With a little time the mid palate fills out, bringing some smoke and richness comes out. Long finish, very nice for what it is.
