Light yellow-gold in color. Open knit aromas of buttered popcorn, stone fruits, yellow citrus peel, chalk and florals. Broad and rich on entry showing buttered pears and stone fruits, excellent mid-palate sap, very good acidity, and long floral and mineral finish. Holding strong although a tad ripe for a CC.

A year and a half since my last bottle. This was closed for business today after 2 hours in the glass. Finish was long but the block of limestone mid way through made this less enjoyable. At least a decade of good drinking once this reaches its prime in another few years. Revisit 2026 Day 3- popped the cork 6 hours in advance with about 4 ounces left and this was so much better, better complexity much less structure and drinking at peak. This should be decanted now for 4 hours plus to get the most of this wine.

Dinner with Nick: My contribution. Popped and poured, quite reductive at first but put on weight and sweetness after time in the glass. Interestingly someone guessed this as a Rougeard. Sweetness mellowed with air but the richness and vanilla notes remained which was why most were in Meursault. Very good drive and still incredibly fresh - most guessed this was half its age. Another data point to show why DIAM works.

Well my previous tasting note was right in that this wine needed more time, but I definitely underscored it. It's right in the zone now. The balance is impeccable and the length is outstanding. No rough edges here. Honey, peach, melon, grapefruit, nuts, hints of biscuits and vanilla. Real harmonious complexity. Each sip a real delight.

After cellaring these for nearly a decade I decided to try one. Burghound said this was built for the long haul and I agree. This hasn’t fully revealed itself after 2 hours in the glass. This has subdued upfront fruit that seems nearly fully integrated and mid way through and the finish are above average. This is entering its prime and should drink well for a decade. Revisit 2023

Reductive nose can’t hide the apple and lemon nose. This is soft, full in the mouth and I wouldn’t identify it as Corton Charlemagne. Maturing nicely, good length. 5 out of 5 bottles were sound. The wine sat in the glass for 2 hours and took on a skunky odor, but tasted fine.

Pale yellow in color. Very expressive nose suggests orchard stone fruits, citrus oils, buttered popcorn, chalk and yellow flowers. Broad and expansive palate shows sweet buttered pears and peaches, wet stones, limestone, superb acidity and a very long mineral tinged finish. This is rather excellent although this is a ripe CC that is showing its oak upbringing. Today I felt the 2008 was truer to the appellation compared to the 2009.

The Bouchard signature matches well with the hot and overripe '09 vintage and this retains good acidity to go along with the gorgeous stone fruit flavors. Seems at peak to my palate with refined, elegant and complex minerally finish. At Vestry, NYC.

Will the frustration ever end. Opened early before dinner party to rule out premox and happy I was. I tasted and it seemed as I hoped/expected. When served at dinner sevreral hours later, Sue said corked and I did not think so. I never did taste or smell the taint but the wine was not vibrant. Not terrible, but no great depth or richness as one would expect. Not that old, so won't accept old age or poor storage as an excuse. Who knows but alas more disappointment

Lovely wine....rich and full but excellent cut of acid, with smoke and some saltiness. No hint of premox and wonderfully fresh. This is why people collect white Burgs with the hope that they will taste something like this...excellent
Lemon, crème brûlée, and oaky vanilla. Intense stone and mineral on the finish. A ripe vintage with decent new oak, but this comes together superbly. Will age nicely. Drink starting 2020.
Just a Monday night thang (Lucio's BYOB, Houston): Opened and followed over three hours. Great nose of matchstick, citrus, Granny Smith apple, and mineral (slate?). Sending Josh off to the 'burbs (l'Artusi, NYC): Pale green straw. Immediately very gouttey and mineral on the nose; saline, smoke, a line of cool green menthol (thanks, Seth), cotton candy, cinnamon (baking spices), caramel; more and more salty sea dock. The palate is massive, predictably, very broad, but really nicely balanced for such a big wine. Primary. The oak, while present, is in fine balance. Good length, but not at all nuanced, yet. Don't touch this for 5 years, minimum, but a very good wine.

France 2012 - Côte d'Or; 7/16/2012-7/21/2012 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. The oak on the nose here is quite pronounced almost masking the ripe orchard fruit that lies beneath. Full in the mouth with more ripe orchard fruit and lots of toasty oak flavours coming through on the long, long finish. There are hints of minerality that break through the layer of oak but it’s a battle for sure. To me it’s a bit flabby at this stage and doesn’t have the acidity and definition that I desire in white burgs. While this is very young and needs a bunch of time, I’m not sure it will ever be a wine that lives up to the hype, for my tastes anyways. Give this 5-7+ years and see where it goes. Very good. 88+

Like the other whites in the Bouchard range, this Corton Charlemagne is pretty, crisp, and not only not showing nearly as (over)ripe as the 09 reds, but actually a shade on the side of unripeness. Fresh, but not as good as the 07s. 92-93

Le Grand Tasting; 11/30/2012-12/1/2012 (Carrousel du Louvre, Paris): Extremly fresh but with a fat final, awesome stuff.

Warm apple tart; elegant minerality with crushed stone and melon notes; glycerin, rocky, fairly intense. Good, but less clearly defined than the Genevrieres. 20% new oak 12-14 months. At the Chateau with winemaker Phillipe Prost.

Just delicious. Very fruitforward with mineral notes. Acidity was a bit low making it easy to drink now. Great balance.
I'm not sure this will be a keeper but why wait? It's just excellent now.

Tasted at Chateau. Balanced, good minerality, fresh, caramel, lemon, toast, medium bodied, long finish. Great potential.

No notes. At local shop tasting. Jadot is better but this was very good. Crisp, bold, creamy, just a well made wine.

Burgundy Tasting (Wine Route Tel Aviv): Bright yellow almost transparent. Stinky, complex – mineral and fruity. Full bodied and oily with well-balanced acidity and long finish with hints of bitterness. Very good! (157$)
