Beautiful aromatics present upon open, but pallette needed an hour + to come around. Good intensity and length, really in a nice place with some sous bois notes, but plenty of acidity left for further development. Held up wonderfully for 4+ hours.

Brickhouse Study (chicago, IL): Nose: There is a perfumed nature to the nose with a sour fruited backdrop filled with plums, raspberries, sour red cherries, violets, rose petals, dusty notes, and a touch of licorice. There is excellent balance with an attractive tartness to the tones.
Taste: The feel is Medium/full bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity and refined, medium tannins. The feel is beautifully balanced and refined with plums, sour red cherries, strawberries, violets, rose petals, and licorice.
Overall: While I am more than certain this will age for a lot longer, it's also right in a beautiful zone. There is a lot of attractive qualities to this while the tones are well balanced and refined across the nose and palate.

Brick House Survey (1995-2015): Similar aromatically to the 08 LD and 09 LD with loads of spice and musk, if a bit more red fruited. Love the purity, intensity and freshness. Just a notch behind the 08 LD.

Brick House survey (Chicago, IL): Quite crunchy. This seems to be a bit of a cooler vintage, and the red fruit feels a bit tart. The nose is a giveaway that the acidity is high on this wine, and that is borne out on the palate. There's a bit of a stemmy, lean quality here too; this is certainly pleasant, but I prefer the wines with a little more flesh on the bones.

This wine has improved a lot since my last bottle. The sous bois on the nose is excellent. The palate is cherry and smooth, a little sweet. Long finish. Very good overall.
