This wine is really drinking well 6 or 7 years after its release. A really good balance between fruit and acidity. I would estimate that this wine can be held for an additional 2 years, but it is drinking well now, so don't hold out too long on this one.
Looks older than it is. Cloudy, unfiltered, medium red-rust color- not unpleasant, just not what you expect. Red fruits, mopeds and gains complexity over the hour we drank it. Spice, cinnamon, red fruits, medium finish. Nice wine, elegant.
Popped and poured at restaurant. Drank at Crabtrees with Dave Mullen and Jim Dullanty. Dave's WOTN.
Decanted 1 hour and consumed over 5 hours. One of the few local PNs that is really best as a pop-n-pour. Showed at its best between hour 1 and hour 2; when the secondary elements of cinnamon and earthy terroir notes supported the red raspberry foundation. But....be careful; after hour 3, the limitations of the vintage began to catch up and began to settle into a one-dimensional, rust-based thing. Starting to get very thin on the palate, leading me to believe that this juice is definitely peaking and will have a very steep and swift decline. Drink now and don’t let the decanter rob you of its best.
