A point. Slight bricking from garnet, nose of cinnamon and mace, with pure red fruits, great balance, and a long finish. Potel must have had a good source in 2002.

This was a pleasant Burgundy but I felt it lacked the intensity that I might have hoped for from a Premier Cru of this fine vintage, perhaps I drank it to early? Certainly, it did not appear to be in danger of falling over soon.

I think this is just into its drinking window but some ways off the peak. No real secondaries yet and it looks pretty youthful too. No real nose either come to think of it. Best is yet to come but I think this is a good premier Cru at best.

(Potel Nicolas Charmes-Chambertin) Medium-plus cherry-red. Some depth to the fruit on the nose and a low-key meaty note - surprising for such a juvenile. Intense cherry cordial on the palate with balanced acidity and tannins that show just a little rasp at the end.. A one-dimensional but long finish. Very easy to drink and given the balance and intensity you could lose this in the cellar for 10 years - no problem.

Great nose and clarity. Notes of cherry, anise, forest floor and with good acid and a medium finish.
