The green pyrazine character has really faded and integrated with time - it's still there, especially on the nose, but in a nice way and the candied red fruit has emerged. Tannins fully resolved and showing great with a pan seared filet mignon; it finishes long, full and balanced. Glad I waited - might have hit the peak!

Medium minus ruby with slight garnet at the rim. Slight reduction, slight pyrazines, slight brett? (nah, maybe not). Very ripe. Coffee grounds (could be pyrazines). Palate: Dry with a ripe attack. Elevated alcohol - 14.5% elevated acid medium tannins Wet coffee grounds, but not much signs of oak.
There's a lot of ripeness on here, but not black fruit.
Pyrazinic, new world, no prominent new oak:
Chilean Carmenere Chilean Cab Coonawarra Cab New World cab franc (it's way too alcoholic for Loire CF).
Final Call, based on structure: Chilean Carmenere 2012 - a bit of development.
Actually 2007 Cousino-Macul Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Maipo Valley, 14%. It's a bit riper than I thought!

Glad I didn't get rid of this case after the last bottle was a write-off - this one is great - drank like classed growth straight from bottle

Vaut la peine d'être attendu, compte tenu du prix!
Encore sur le fruit, équilibré.
Petite pointe d'alcool en rétro mais son seul défaut..
