Garnet with only a hint of bricking. Lots of tearing. Plums and tertiary notes on the nose. Opened 2.5 hours before all the bottle funk blew off. Resolved tannins still present. Plums, dark berries, and a touch of dirt. Nice long finish. Peak now, but doesn't hint at a rapid decline.
The cork was a bit dry but the wine was in good condition. This could have been mistaken for an aged California Cab or Right-Bank Bordeaux. Tasted blind, no one pegged it as Chilean. Well balanced with beautiful aromas of tobacco and mushrooms. I would not keep it longer than a couple more years. Double decant.
