Pleasant nose of blackberries and bit of Asian spices and floral perfume.
Palate is pleasantly balanced with lots of fruits. Definitely not as typical as most Shiraz from Margaret River. Body is heavy.
Finish is medium with lots of fruit.
Served in a decanter for 2.5 hours. Based on experience with a different bottle, was expecting the wine to develop into something but I was a little disappointed that it didn't change very much. That said, I still enjoyed this wine.

Cape Mentelle Masterclass (Winesquare, Pyrmont Bridge Road): Polished, cream, black berry over plums and a slightly briny, savoury notes. Kind of hits a middle ground between South Australia and the Hunter. Slightly peppery spice, juicy. The fruit is a little more muted here and more plummy but still quite broad on the palate. Quite soft tannins and a little warm spice on the finish. Meh

Nose of vanilla, black fruits, caramel sweetness with hints of spices.
Palate is a little acidic, with black fruits, and there is a bit of bitterness. Very long leg.
Finish is a little on the light side, which I still enjoy, with dark berries and pretty long.
Would recommend a careful decant to isolate the sediment on the bottle.
Overall, I think this wine is quite enjoyable.
Better than my previous bottle.

Massively surpassed expectations. Gentle. Fruity. Sophisticated.
