During a Dujac dinner with friends this was possibly the stand-out wine. In general the CSD all showed really well (also tasted 01 magnum, 99 and 06). The 02 just pipped 01 and 99 for me today, it was so ready and engaging, some orange notes that made you salivate and hauntingly meaty but zesty nose with that distinctively mineral fine boned CSD structure. A hedonistic delight.

Singing tonight. Vraiment 2002, ripe, creamy, carressing, hitting the Pinot-nerve big time. Great balance here. A wee bit tired on day 2, maybe time to drink this. #JR&Co

Acker "Paulee" Burgundy Dinner (Capital Seafood - Beverly Hills CA): Paulée style dinner. Red and even redder sweet fruit, showing both fresh and mature character in excellent combination. Enchanting spice. Even better than a very good bottle tasted last month.

Burgundy Dinner with a Bordeaux Producer (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): This is also took a long time to come together. Awkward to start, then finally fun and complete an hour later, at which point lots of red cherry and spice emerged with good density.

Had this twice in the last month. Against the CDLR, BM and Ech, this is the best 2002 Grand Cru. Amazing fruit, acidity and spice. Love this.
