New Years Eve selection and with a dynamite citrus braised pulled pork with crispy shallots (shameless plug for the chef) a match made heaven. Large-ish but not over the top, lots of classic CdP characteristics that shined with the pork.

The wine is medium ruby with garnet rim. On the nose, initially it has some farmyard notes, but shortly hides to the back after sitting in the glass for 20min. It presents beautiful red roses, bush/mediterranian herbs, pungent spices, red strawberry, 螺蛳粉酸笋. It's developing. On the palate, the wine has medium plus acidity, medium plus tannins with very fine and silky texture, high alcohol, medium plus body. The flavor intensity is medium plus with red strawberry, red date, black tea and herbal notes. The finish is medium plus as well. Classic grenarche blend flavor (80%), well made, fine balance despite 14.5% alcohol. Enjoyable to drink at such young age. The funky notes initially can be off-putting to some people, but it's not over-powering after decanting and I don't mind it at all.

May The 4th!!!
On this raining Sundayl afternoon in Sydney, Australia and I am enjoying with wonderful wine purchased at the domaine… Pegau Reserve.
The 2020 is a full-bodied with fine, firm tannins, well balanced and the finish… a minute plus.
A CDP wine that doesn’t need to change!

So fun to drink one of these young ones. Really easy to drink now and quite pleasing. Lots of stuffing to age nicely.
