Light ruby almost garnet in color, with some alcohol in the nose that gives way to bright cherries and pout pourry. Nice acidity, minerals, bright, semi-tart cherries; dried violets, coffee beans, wet forest floor. Medium+ tannins, nice medium-long ending with aromatic wood and spice. Very approachable, great food wine. As elegant as Nebbiolo should be, but not as overpowering as the ones from Barolo. A pleasant surprise.

Visiting Nino Negri in Valtellina, wine #1/6. Le Tense translates to “protected” as during 1512 to 1797 Valtellina was controled by Switzerland, during these times, finest vineyards in Valtellina were protected by armed guardians. Made from single varietal of Chiavennasca, aged 1 year in used FR oak and 1 year in bottle. Medium+ fragrant aroma of cherries, raspberry, roses, spices. Medium body, fresh and elegant texture with fruity and saline flsvours, medium+ acidity, finely grained structured silky tannins.

Typical Nebbiolo from Valtellina: fresh, elegant, and easy to drink. Medium body and tannins.

Classic Nebbiolo notes with hints of roses and tar on the nose. Nice wine for classic Italian food pairing.
