Surprisingly still youthful for 1999 vintage. It still have a long life ahead and at its peak. Pronounced nose intensity with notes of ripe lemon, yeast, bread, toast. High acidity.

Soo's birthday: More linear and tensile than the ‘98, in line with what I usually expect from Comtes. Nice saline drive, very good for an unheralded vintage. Still very youthful and fresh but a slight step below the stunning 1998.

aromas of pralines, sweet citrus and pears, honey, toasty pastry... smooth and easy on the palate, generous and plush, mature and gracious... this is in a great spot and feels younger than 24 years, it will surely drink well for another 5, perhaps 10+ years

Taittingers Comtes blanc night (Noize, London): Incredibly, painfully young - transparent in colour, tasting more youthful than even the most recent release (2012) alongside it. But missing the development and depth of fruit you'd hope for in a wine at this age. I'm not sure it'll be great Comtes, but it will certainly last another 10-20 years so hopefully the tertiary aromas give this wine an extra level of interest.
