(Disgorged in mid-1990s, 100% Chardonnay) Lovely amber colour still showing some fine bubbles slowly rising in the glass with a mature nose showing honey, butterscotch caramel and lime citrus flowers and with extended time in the glass it shows a delicious creamy note. Lime juicy acidity on the mature palate combined with butterscotch notes and with a creaminess on the mid before dried up fruit takes over on the intense and lengthy finish. This vintage has matured quickly, but still hanging in with a refreshing acidity and with dosage to back it up still.. (Best 2006-2021)

I always really enjoy this wine. Glad to see we have one more left. In perfect drinking window right now. Not sure this is going to continue to improve, but if you like aged champagne (so more nutty and caramelized edges) then this is just great. Still had bubbles! And some nice acid.

Celebrating the beg of the 'quasi-vacation' (since there's a lot of work calls going at the same time. I love old champagne. It's a pity it's gotten so expensive. This still had a bit of fizz, a touch of oxidation, very carmelized, and really just fun and tasty.

Wine in the time of Corona Virus - Quarantining in NYC & NH; 3/7/2020-9/1/2020 (NYC/NH): Memorial Day in Bryant Park - our first socially distanced picnic with NYC friends we have not seen since February. This was their generous contribution and a lovely way to kick off the beautiful sunny afternoon. The nose is quite oxidized, but the wine is still very much alive. Super toasty, caramelized brioche, toasted honey, bubbles are barely there but the depth of flavor is lovely. I really dig old champagne and this was a thoroughly enjoyable!

Turns out that this one bottle was a rose. It was totally shot. This happens with some auction buys. Best la vie!
