(Simi Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley) Opaque purple red violet color; aromatic, black currant, black cherry, berry syrup, baking spice nose; rich, slightly tight, black currant, black cherry, baking spice palate with some balancing acidity; could use 1 year; medium-plus finish (88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec; 13.5% alcohol; 16 months in French & American oak, 15% new French, 10% new American)

Better than expected--and not meant as a backhanded compliment. Beautiful dark garnet, raspberry tones, well balanced. Nice cab

For less than $20 this is a very respectable Cab. Not showing a hint of age, actually thought this most likely would approve with another year or two in the cellar. Quite concentrated, good cab character. Nice acidity too, with restrained fruit.
