As good as always, light colour fully matured but clean on nose and palate. Very fragrant, dried rose and other tertiary flavours. Not as long as the previous bottle but great finesse. Always enjoyable! 17/20

Rather light brick colour as last time, which I feel it's quite typical when I come across Aldo's old wine in 60s or 70s. However the aromatic is not feeble at all, flushing out from the glass and can be sensed even you are away from the glass. On palate it's less vibrant than my last bottle, but still the same kaleidoscopic mix of spice, dried flower, soysauce, earthy soil, mushroom. Not so much of VA noted. Amazing length that keeps going on and on. What a memorable lunch when tasting alongside with Marchesi di Barolo 1964 (which is very different). Great monumental wine. 18/20

Pale brick orange colour, fully mature. The aroma (especially dried rose) was screaming out from my Zalto glass and reminds me the occasion with Monfortino before. Mellow, tannin fully integrated with a rich mix of mushroom, dried flower, tar, earth. Consistent and persistent finish that lingers in your mouth. Excellent work. What a blessing to have this wine when it is fully matured. When looking back it may be the wine of my year. 18.5/20

The Conterno was past its prime, but showing well for a base level Barolo that is 51 years old. Pale orange garnet in color. Lovely nose, with faded red fruit, orange, toffee, earthy notes.

Refined and light, clearly a good bottle, very strong vintage, tar, earthy, sweet tones, appealing and very good.
