Party for AF defense. This tasted over the hill, slightly cooked, and a bit burned out. Was still drinkable, but not what it used to be. Should have drunk sooner.

Last bottle from my cellar - best one yet! Deep garnet color, so dark as to be nearly opaque (but not cloudy). On the nose, dense aromas of red and black fruit, with a hint of minerality in the background. On the pallet, velvety smooth texture supporting lush, dark red and black fruit flavors of blackberry, raspberry, currant, plum, deep and rich but restrained, balanced on an undercurrent of light earthyness and subtle minerality. Smooth and refined tannins on the moderate finish. All deftly blended to create a very pleasing wine of elegance and perfect balance. I was not impressed by previous bottles, drunk years ago when the wine had only a few years of bottle age; this wine apparently really needed cellar time to fully evolve!

Still going strong. Straightforward syrah, a bit of heat, but pleasant drinker.
