dark garnet wow. dried fruits. 14.5% alcohol, but not as noticeable as you would think. smooth, rich, balanced. not as opulent as the Zenato, but still a great wine. showed slightly better than last year

Like all Amarone, the local grape varieties on Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara are dried to raisinlike fruit to concentrate the flavor before they are vinified. This wine was less Amaronelike and more Tuscanlike. It had a good deep red color. The fruit was not bitter at all and the wine was quite smooth. Notes of cherry and earth. 89-90 points.
