Benefitted greatly from 45 mins to an hour in the decanter. Sorry, no specific notes taken. It was funky before the decant and I could identify some of the prior tasting notes here about alcohol presence, etc. Cleaned up with the air. I'd say that the drinking CT window is accurate.

A classic! So rich, elegant, fresh, and lots of depth. The old vine Grenache really stands out here. Expressive floral and wild berry nose. Dense, creamy palate with so many wonderful layers of flavor: cassis, blackberry, plum, mineral, herb and spice. Great balance, well integrated tannins. Super long, smooth and persistent finish. A truly spectacular wine to drink now or to continue cellaring for many more years. :)

Undrinkable upon opening. Jammy, disjointed, flabby. Threw away my glass and recorked the bottle. 48 hours later, this had evolved into something more palatable. Still slightly too alcoholic for my tastes, but borderline good. Like the ugly duckling morphing, over time, into a passably attractive swan.

Ripe and exotic with spice, smoke and excellent definition. Most likely at its peak. This was a super bottle.

Dark fruit, acid, tannins. Still feels young.
