  • Agree with Men in Black's TN. This is still alive now but i'd drink up. Really some magnificent age on this one with loads of complexity.

  • Private Dinning: You Bring then I Do (Restaurant La Piperna - Madrid): After two hours breathing this bottle was singing.
Dusty cherry colour for an elusive nose where everything is there but really shy.
Better palate indeed, still a decent backbone and good acidity.
    Pairing a foie ravioli.

  • Clear and bright, deep tawny colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and fully developed, showing medium+ intensity aromas of baked plums, cedar, tobacco, truffles, game, anise and liquorice. The wine is dry with a medium acidity, medium+ slightly coarse tannins, medium alcohol, medium+ body and medium intensity flavours of baked plums, tobacco, truffles, game and liquorice. Medium finish.

It is a good quality wine with a good complexity provided by tertiary aromas and a good balance between acidity and alcohol, but it lacks fruit concentration and the finish could be longer. Drink now, not suitable for further ageing, it is already fully developed and will be past its best soon.

  • Deep and evolving but not too obvious nose of dark berries, oak and pepper. Also some barnyard aromas develop with air. Classic, mellow Rioja on the palate. Oak has integrated but still showing. Smooth. (B)

  • What a good Rioja is all about! but had higher expectations for a new 94 like this.
Clean red-brownish colour for a meaty nose full of apple and white chocolate aromas. Fruit has gone but acidity is keeping this bottle alive.
Quite short aftertaste for a Gran Reserva.
Matching a fresh homemade Carbonara Tallarini.
