Dark cherry fruit on the open. A little brooding, with notes of tar, and earth on the back end. This had more complexity than I expected, and it actually seemed to be in a pretty good place. Though I don't see it getting much better.

1996 red burgundies (Tunstall): Lovely clear red, with no visible browning, perhaps a bit of orange. Clean nose of raspberry and bark. Light'ish weight, lovely balance and flavour, but a notch below the Poissenot in terms of persistence.

Weekly tasting group #076; 3x Geantet-Pansiot + 12 Bordeaux (@ VD): Consistent with previous notes; a bit rustic, earthy impressions, strawberry and rose buds in the bouquet. On the palate a firm amount of elegant acidity, earthiness, red forest fruits, some spiciness and soft tannin with still a nice bite. A bit dusty in the finish. With more airtime the fruits show better. Ready now; drink within the next 2 - 3 years.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #124; Burgundy; Gevrey-Chambertin (By VD and @ VD): Beautiful bouquet with dark berries and rustic stable impressions, minerals and tea. On the palate dark and red berries, leather, rust, autumn forest, mushrooms, very beautiful acidity and a good length.
