Deep nose of pitted fruit, cherry, rose petals, damp soil, saffron and old books. This had that x-factor nose, there is something there I cannot identify but absolutely love.
Very round, juicy cherry, mostly resolved tannins and good length. It shows its age, but still going strong, I am in no rush to drink my second bottle.

Casual dinner at Testacio: 95/99/10 flight. Favorite of the trio. Nose has powerful spice, dried floral and earth tones and is a bit darker than the 99, while also more intensely spicy and focused. Wow, so much rich and powerful fruit laced with great earthen spice. Still young and has upside from here.

Dinner at Testaccio (Chicago, IL): Easily my favourite of the Chaignots trio (1995, 2010). This was much more silky in texture and didn't have all the coarseness of the 1995. It was also more mature and the tannins resolved enough to make this feel ready to drink (though there's lots of life left). The acidity isn't as prominent as on the 1995, but the fruit is more at the forefront, giving this a more generous disposition.

Late night pop n' pour following an epic lineup of Nebbiolo. Fun to come back to the pleasures of Red Burg. Excellent concentration and depth. Muscles of NSG with the suaveness and spice of Vosne. Super pretty and long.

Dark fruit and dense, not showing much unlike the last bottle I had. Perfect cork and fill level. Need 5+ years for well kept bottle.
