Opened and decanted for 2 hours. Brick red, dusty nose, a bit vegetal at first. Lovely sweet aged Nebbiolo nose developed after about 30 minutes. A bit of dark cherry. Tannins quite smooth. Medium long finish. Guessing that it’s just past its peak and probably will fade pretty quickly.

No score. The wine is past it's prime. On the nose you are expecting a port-like experience but on the palate it's extremely mild. Still has tannins on the finish.

nose: perfumed and balanced nose with aromatic tones of roasted herbs, dark red cherries, spice tones, florals and some tar tones. Nice depth, but not bringing a ton of depth.
taste: polished and elegant medium/full body with medium+ acidity and good tannins. The tannins and acid are noticeable, but are well in check too with balanced tones of roasted herbs, dark red cherries, spice tones and some dark berries as well.
overall: this opens up a bit more with air. It was decanted for a good two hours ahead of drinking. There is some browning and rimming, but there still a nice dark red core. This is drinking extremely well right now and should easily hold for a while.
